Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

This was our first dog so we thought it might be a good idea to look into pet insurance. After much research, we decided on Healthy Paws and so glad we did! Healthy paws has been so helpful and informative right from the start. Then came THE incident where our dog Bosco swallowed a needle and thread! Poor guy ended up needing an emergency endoscopy on Christmas Eve! Well, Healthy Paws came through right away after filing the claim. Truly fast and caring this company is! It is quite a relief knowing that Healthy Paws has your back while you can focus on your pets needs. Bosco came home later that night and spent our first Christmas together!

I recently adopted Jake, he is 11 months and he experienced muscles spasms a few times. He had recently been given some chicken jerky (made in China) and after reading all the issues caused by these treats. I took him to the Vet. They ran blood tests, urine tests and those can be costly...I am specially pleased because Healthy Paws covers holistic care. Jake's test came normal and was very pleased. Muscle spasms must have been too much excersice. They were wonderful on their follow ups to make sure I submitted all the correct information. Very deligent and a pleasure to deal with! Promptly reimbursed me $3400 of a $4400 bill. This was my first claim and they paid my exactly as stated with no problems.

My dog, Bonnie was vomiting blood and,after a few tests, it was determined she had a severe case of Giardia. The total bill was just over $700.00. Four days later, Bonnie cut her foot badly, another $700.00! Healthy Paws processed both claims very quickly and I have already been reimbursed for the first incident. The second check is already in the mail! In the meantime, Healthy Paws has contacted me to see how Bonnie has been doing! This kind of customer service is unheard of these days and I'm so pleased that I chose Healthy Paws over all the others. My cat, Mojo, had to have surgery last March to remove bladder stones and the total bill was over $2,400.00. I submitted my claim by snail mail and was reimbursed in a little over a week! I could not be more pleased with the wonderful service I have received from Healthy Paws and have encouraged all of my friends with pets to consider signing up or changing their insurance to Healthy Paws!

My puppy has had a few minor non-routine issues in his first year. My Vet submits the claims for me, and I cannot believe how fast they are processed. I sometimes have the email confirmation that my claim has been received even before I get home from the Vet appointment, and the claims have always been processed within 1-3 days. The customer service team is great; someone always calls (and/or sends an email) when the claim is processed to go over the details and answer any questions. While they do not cover basic routine "maintenance-type" of issues -- yearly exam, vaccines, spay/neuter... these types of costs are expected and budget-able, and I believe this is what keeps the premium down. My premium is extremely manageable -- much lower than other Insurers, if not the lowest for the same or better coverage. I am glad I selected Healthy Paws, and they are there for the non-routine concerns and emergencies.
