used to be really good

used to be really good. I used to tell my friends all about this insurance. Lately it’s been a bunch of forgotten claims when you give them the information that they ask for they don’t process the claim nobody sets up whatever it is they’re supposed to. taking 10+ days then I have to call and tell them to nothings happened and nothing was happening. for the $250 a month I pay which is more than I pay for my own health insurance. I feel like they should be a little bit better.

Years of great coverage, service, and care

I've had Healthy Paws pet insurance for my oldest cat since we got him as a kitten in early 2019. They have been incredible in providing exceptional coverage and care for all the unexpected medical events an a couple (fortunately minor) emergencies. I recently got a plan for my new kitten as well after years of nothing but good things to say! After getting neutered, a very minor surgery, my 8 month old kitten wouldn't eat and was not himself. What followed was a very stressful weekend of going from vet to vet for supportive care and next steps. We finally got a correct diagnosis: adverse reaction to anesthesia causing gastroenteritis. He was all set and back to normal after an overnight hospitalization with an amazing team and the right care for his needs. Through that horrible weekend, my husband and I didn't have to worry about the costs of our kitten's care because we knew Healthy Paws would help us. After roughly $4k in total expenses across multiple days and 3 vets, and having already met our deductible, we ended up paying $800 out of pocket in stead of $4000+. Healthy Paws is so fast to get through claims and answer any questions. On the phone, they've always been fantastic. I recommend everyone get Healthy Paws pet insurance and DO NOT WAIT. The sooner your pet is covered, the better. Trust me! The peace of mind when something unexpected happens is worth every penny of the monthly rate. They have different coverage options to help you find something that works. They will also reach out to vet offices for necessary records from claims you file so you're not chasing anyone around or playing middleman. Healthy Paws has even reached out to check on both kitties after their tougher experiences. I'm very grateful for their awesome service and care.

I'd recommend Healthy Paws to anyone

I have a Healthy Paws policy that reimburses 90% of covered expenses after a $500 deductible. My dog ingested something that caused a blockage in his intestines and nearly killed him. It required the services of an internal medicine specialist who performed surgery and was able to remove the blockage. He had multiple complications and was hospitalized for nearly a week. Ultimately, the charges were over $22k. Healthy Paws reimbursed me for 90% of the covered expenses, just like it was supposed to work. If I didn't have Healthy Paws, I would not have been able to afford the care I needed. The company was very responsive throughout the process and the reimbursement is in my bank account before my credit card bill is due.

Chocolate bad; Healthy Paws good :)

My too smart for his own good dog opened a mason jar and ate a bunch of chocolate. At the emergency clinic you could tell the vet wanted to keep him overnight but was worried the expense would be too much. I said I have pet insurance and her whole body relaxed. My doggo got the best care, has no liver damage and is back to his old self. I received a reimbursement check within a week and can now pay off my credit card with zero interest. So thankful for Healthy Paws

Very poor service.

I filed a claim for my dog in late January, I sent in all the documents they asked for numerous times, I called them several times a week and never got to speak with the same person, they denied the claim twice even though it was for a tooth extraction from a traumatic event which is clearly covered under the policy. I finally demanded to talk to a supervisor and the claims adjuster somehow didn't see the note from the vet that I had provided a few times. So it was finally resolved but I'm not happy. If I could remove all my 5 dogs from their service I would but they have pre-existing conditions so I'm stuck. Hopefully they will improve their services at some point.
