Don't believe their marketing - they flat out lie.
Worst experience ever with this company. Its a lie that they pay out whatever percentage you are paying for. They do not pay for any exam fees which when your pet has cancer is what costs the most. The actual part that they pay out of a $2500 bill is for the chemo which is only $115. Just about everything else that made up the $2500 bill was considered by Healthy Paws as an exam and therefore does not get paid back to the customer. Not only that, they do not actually pay out claims in the 2 day or even 10 days after submitting a claim. I submitted a claim back on 5.2.2023, today is 6.26.2023 and they still haven't paid for it. I called in, asked to speak to a manager who and I have it on recording, says there is no way to expedite my claim nor is there a set number of days where it would be considered to long to wait. In other words they can hold off on paying out a claim for over a year without you being able to escalate it to have it taken care of faster. You are at their mercy. I have been a customer since 2019 when i had the necessary exam done when I first signed up, and we had no issues or vet visits until recently and NOW they were telling us that exam we did after signing up wasn't eligeable because they didn't have the right medical records? All the records were uploaded. They wanted me to wait the 15 day grace period AGAIN starting 5.2.2023, even though I'd already been a paying customer for FOUR years at that point AND did the initial exam. I had to send the medical records for that 2019 exam several times until they decided they will look over my 2023 claims again to SEE if they can allow them to be covered. Why had I been paying for FOUR years when apparently they didn't have the information they needed? Only now do I find out? And now ALL of my claims (which I've had a lot now since my cat has cancer) are being held up. I'm over $6K down, thinking I was going to be ok because they'd cover 70% of the bills only to find out I've been basically lied to and IF they cover things, it'll be a small amount, and I could be waiting for them to even pay THAT out for basically ever. DO NOT use these people. I regret signing up and believing the reviews. I don't see how they're made by real people. I'm happy to send anyone who wants the video recording of my call to anyone who request it. Send me an email to retteg39gmailcom. Oh and you can never speak with the same person. The supervisor will also refuse to transfer you to their manager. They hung up on my and never called me back. also have a recording of that.
