Healthy Paws Pet Insurance Was Such A Blessing

In January of 2012 my black lab, Lucy, was diagnosed with adrenal cancer (and Cushing's Disease). Her cancer was inoperable because it had also "severely invaded" her vena cava (vein to the heart). However, the University of Missouri Veterinary Teaching Hospital decided to take her as a patient in their oncology department. Lucy was scheduled to receive radiation treatment at the hospital M-F for four weeks (the entire month of March), and would spend the weekends with me at home. She was a trooper through it all - stoic, and such a sweetheart. However, on Tuesday, March 26th she took an unexpected turn for the worse. As best the doctors can tell, Lucy developed a tumor clot that traveled through her heart into her lungs (which then produced fluid in her lungs resulting in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, ARDS). Because of their quick care, they immediately took her into ICU and stabilized her so she was not struggling to breathe for long. However, within a few hours of my arrival she began to get worse. I had to put her down at 1:30am Wednesday morning; it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Her radiation was going well and she was due to come home two days later (on Good Friday), so this was an extremely unfortunate turn of events. Since her passing, every day has been a struggle. I miss my best friend so much I hurt, continuously. The twelve years seemed to fly by in a minute; what I would give for more time. Though my greatest pleasure would come from seein

Healthy Paws Saved my Dog

I am so greatful to have had healthy paws insurance for my dog when he hurt his leg. After a few expensive doctors visits, it turned out that he had torn the ligament in his left back leg and needed surgery! If we had not had insurnace, there is no way we would have been able to afford the medical care our dog desperatly needed. Thank goodness for that 80% reimbursement! Now my dog is running around and happy to be mobile again, and we are not in massive dept! Healthy paws made it so easy to file claims and were very fast in sending checks out. THANKS HEALTHY PAWS!

A painless process during a painful time!

Healthy Paws- Thank you so much for all the attention and help you've given us! Luna is doing very well and made a speedy recovery. After a horrible reaction to Ivermectin and time in the hospital, the last thing we wanted to worry about was money an insurance! It took a few days for her sight to come back, but luckily that was the worst of it. I am so grateful for all the help you've given us and the speedy manner in which everything was taken care of. We are so thankful to be using healthy paws and thank you for everything!!

CLAIM EXPERIENCE

Thank you Sara and Carly for making this experience pleasurable. As I mentioned before, I have used others in the past and Everything was a FIGHT and they tried their best to deny anything and everything. I have recommended Health Paws to everyone and even posted on Face book how happy I am with your services. I hope you have a great day and nice weekend. Best, D Ford (and Clifford too)
