premiums have gone up!

I still like Healthy Paws, they are super fast to mail you your check once your file a claim. And their customer server has been stellar. But since we joined a little over 2 years ago our premium has gone up over 30%!

Excellent Claims Handling

I am so thankful I purchased insurance for my dog through Healthy Paws. I spent the $ to get the 90/10 coverage, and true to their advertisements, they straight up paid the claim at 90% less my deductible and the exam fees. They did not nickle-and-dime the charges as most insurance companies do. There was ZERO hassle, and payment was received by me only a week after I submitted the claim. When I spoke with a representative about the claim, they genuinely sounded like they cared about my sick dog. They called my dog by name and referred to her condition. I will always be a customer and will insure my other dog and all future pets with Health Paws!

I wish Healthy Paws offered human coverage!

Let me start by saying I never write reviews, positive or negative. The recent events with our 4 year old basset hound compel me to share our experience with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. We took our Buddy Lee to his regular vet, as his eyes had a slight discharge, and he seemed lethargic. The vet immediately suspected glaucoma and sent us directly to a veterinary ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist confirmed the diagnosis of acute hereditary glaucoma. We were sent home with the suspicion that Buddy Lee had lost vision in his left eye, but that maybe his eye could be saved. Treatment with oral pills and eye drops was immediately employed. This story does not have a happy ending. Four days later it was determined his vision had been permanently lost in the eye, and the severe pain he was experiencing could not be controlled with medication. His eye ball was removed, and the lid sutured closed. We advised the ophthalmologist that Buddy Lee was covered by pet insurance. She completed the form, but warned that the disease is inherent to the basset hound breed, and her experience was that most pet insurance paid little to nothing for ophthalmology bills. Now for the good news. 1-Dogs function 100% with one eye, and Buddy Lee is doing great. 2-Healthy Paws Pet Insurance paid hugely on the claim! They paid 90% of the bills after our deductible & diagnosis charges, which is exactly the policy we bought. There was no "usual & customary" nonsense, or hidden excl

Helpful and Effecient, Exceeded Expectations

Vinny is an indoor cat but slipped out and in 20 minutes had a fight with a stray cat that hangs around. He developed an abscess on his cheek that required suture and drainage. We had signed up with Healthy Paws around 4 - 5 months prior to the incident, so this was our first claim. We were pleasantly astonished at the prompt response to our claim, the helpful assistance via email and empathetic approach to the incident. Within the week we received a check back. We are impressed, extremely happy and would readily recommend Healthy Paws to friends and family.

Amazing!

Healthy Paws has been nothing but great. My vet forwards the bill to the company, the company replies promptly and a check is in the mail. I couldn't ask for more peace of mind. It makes the cost of a sick or injured pet no longer a concern. While at the vet, I can worry about their wellbeing instead of the cost of the xrays or procedures needed. Also the company itself is so friendly. I get thoughtful emails checking up on my pets a few times a year. I can't think of any human insurance company who actually treats you like a friend. Bottom Line: I'd recommend Healthy Paws to everyone with a pet and a desire to ensure that pet is well taken care of and loved.
