They are the best

Dealing with insurance companies for humans can be a bitter experience and I expected the same with pet insurance. Over the years, I've had lots of pets, but never had pet insurance. I was so lucky to pick Healthy Paws after research, reviews and talking with the co-owner of the company. I signed our kitty, Kato, up, about 4 years ago, and have never regretted this decision. He was a few months old, had a clean bill of health, so everything has been covered, minus office visits, shots, etc., any of the well-being things mentioned in the policy. Kato is not a big cat, and he is neutered, but he defends his territory as if he was a lion; therefore, he gets into some nasty fights. More than once, he has come home from the vets with drainage tubes, stitches, collars and medicines and I have never had a claim denied. I email the claim form in, and within 24 hours I get an email stating my claim is in process and a check is usually in my hand within 4-5 days. I have had nothing but good experience with all the folks at Healthy Paws and there are no extra costs to have coverage for cancer, etc., this is included in the premium. And you can decide what percentage you want reimbursed...this dictates your monthly cost. Make sure you understand the policy and you will avoid any misunderstandings.

Simply the Best

I did a ton of research and Healthy Paws is simply the best. I even chose them over a company-offered benefit. Here's why they are the best: 1. Best value for money. 2. Awesome customer service! 3. Prompt claims processing with no hassle. 4. They have foundation in which they donate back to saving animals --- can it get any better? Don't think twice about another insurance company. Stick with Healthy Paws and you'll never be sorry.

Best thing we ever did for our girl!

Ophelia, our toy poodle began limping when she was around nine (9) months old and we thought she pulled a muscle or twisted her leg during one of her favorite play time activities (tug of war). Sadly, her limp continued to worsen and after two weeks, we finally conceded and took her to our veterinary for an exam. Once there, our Veterinarian conducted tests and x-rays and determined that both her hind femoral heads were severely damaged and diagnosed Ophelia with Legg–Calve–Perthes syndrome. Legg-Calve-Perthes syndrome is a disease of the hip joint that results in abnormal deformity of the ball of the hip joint and starts with an insult to the blood supply to the head of the femur bone. As the blood supply is damaged, the bone dies off leading to the bone in the femoral head to collapse and the cartilage coating of the femoral head becomes cracked and deformed. This leads to arthritis or inflammation of the hip joint causing pain and lameness in the affected legs. The cause is not completely understood however the treatment is a femoral head and neck excision with an excellent prognosis. (Degner, 2004) Sadly Ophelia had the issue with both her legs and required a double Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) which is expensive and painful. We scheduled the surgery for both her legs and once the surgery was completed, our Veterinarian and the Orthopedic Surgeon signed the claim form and their office sent the claim and all of Ophelia’s medical records to Healthy Paws. 10/10 Incredible - Best Service + Simple Claims

My 6-yr old female Weimeraner has been insured with Healthy Paws for almost 2 years now. I am blown away by the professionalism, competency, quality and speed of reimbursement of this company. (If only my human health insurance were of this caliber!) The most recent cause for me to use my insurance - Bella started the have difficulty getting up from a seated or lying down position; as if her knees or hips were hurting. Initially I took her to my regular Vet. He took a zillion xrays and tapped the knee joint to test the fluid for inflammation. His diagnosis was cruciate ligament problems, bilaterally (means both knees) and recommended surgery at a cost of $6,000 (just the surgery fee - additional fees for all the ancillary charges. I didn't feel comfortable with this...so I decided just like in human cases, a second opinion would be a good idea. I contacted Healthy Paws, and sure enough - not only did they say my policy covers the cost of a second opinion, they encouraged me to pursue it for Bella's sake. The specialist I took Bella to see is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He is not convinced at this stage by merely looking at several x-rays of the diagnosis that the first Veterinarian arrived at. He explained in detail, which I skip here) that further tests were required to figure what was really going on. So Monday of next week, we are off to North Carolina to the University to have an MRI performed on both her knees (and of the hips are suspect, both hips). Again, He
