Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

For some reason my review didn't post when I first submitted it, so I'm trying again. Last month my dog tore her ACL, resulting in surgery and both physical therapy and hydrotherapy, which are still ongoing. She's been insured with Healthy Paws since she was two years old (she's five-and-a-half now), and I can't even begin to describe the peace of mind that brought me when I needed it most. It was so wonderful, at a time when I was in shock and worried about my girl's future, to be able to tell my vet "Whatever she needs, do it." My claims have been paid with incredible promptness, and they even e-mailed me after her surgery to ask how she was doing. I've raved about them so much that my vet's office has now begun recommending Healthy Paws to their clients after seeing problems with so many other insurers. Any future dogs I ever own will be Healthy Paws dogs.

My dog, Stubbie, is approaching "middle" age so I decided it would be a good time to insure him. He ruptured his CCL about a month after insuring him. We are about 8 weeks out of surgery and I received a reimbursing check weeks ago. It was so fast! Everyone over there was so nice every time I called and they were so efficient with reviewing his claim. Trey is a curious English Springer Spaniel, his curiosity got the better of him when he decided slug bait looked like a tasty treat. He ate several portions and shortly there after had a hard time breathing and had involuntary spasms. We got him to an emergency vet clinic, where he was taken care. The anxiety of the cost of the visit and care there after was lessened by the fact that Healthy Paws Insurance would cover the cost of the incident. Healthy Paws processed the claim, sent our reimbursement check and actually followed up to check on his condition. Our cat Jack got very sick where his chest cavity filled with fluid and pus. He only had a 50/50 chance of surviving. If we didn't have Healthy Paws, we couldn't have him cared for. His bill came to $8000 and there was no way we could have afforded it. Unfortunately, we had to pay for each visit and the week in the hospital and specialists. I didn't know how long it would take to reimburse us (90%), but within 5 days of submitting each bill, we got a check; a big relief.Jack is fine and we got 90% of our money back as promised. Great company!
