My dog, Ruger, got into a little bit of trouble after injesting a seed pod from a Chinaberry tree, which is poisonous. He was suffering from gastroentritis and dehydration, for which he needed to be hospitalized overnight for IV fluids. The claims process for his initial hospitalization and follow up medications and visits have been nothing short of remarkable. I received immediate notification that his claims were received, and the reimbursement checks were in my mailbox less than 2 weeks from the initial filing date. When I received the explanation of benefits for his claims, I was very happy to see that Healthy Paws delivered on all fronts - I was reimbursed for 90% of my costs after the yearly deductible and exam fees were paid. There was no fine print, hidden non-covered services that popped up (like they did with a previous pet insurance company that I had dealt with in the past). It is so refreshing to deal with a company who deivers on their promises and has excellent customer service. I have recommended Healthy Paws to every pet owner I know! Human insurance compannies should be so efficient!

Life Saving Pet Insurance!
My sweet German shepherd, Blaze, was having increasing difficulty walking, getting into the car and negotiating stairs. An M.R.I. was indicated to further diagnose the problem. This was only possible because Healthy Paws paid 80% of the cost, after the deductible of $250 was reached. The M.R.I. indicated that Blaze had multiple (6) vertebral discs that were variously degenerated and bulging, two of which necessitated rather immediate surgery. Spinal surgery is not a simple matter--not physically, for my dog, nor financially, for me. Again, because of the support of Healthy Paws, this life saving surgery was made possible for Blaze. As always, they processed my claims immediately and within a week, a check for 80% of this very hefty bill was in the mail.
It turned out that once the surgeons had opened up Blaze, they discovered that one disc was much worse than the M.R.I. had revealed: it was actually fused to his spinal cord. It was only because of the superior skill of this Board certified neurosurgeon that the disc was removed with NO injury to Blaze's spinal cord--a 4 hour procedure, 2 - 8" long incisions, and 4 days of hospitalization.
Nearly, 2 weeks since the surgery, I'm happy to report that Blaze is making a remarkable recovery. I look forward to the 8 week mark when he will be free to run, chase balls, and tussle with my other shepherd. My gratitude to the extraordinary physicians, Dr. Cuddon and Dr. Ko, at the Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Wheat Rid

Healthy Paws helped save our Molly
When our 8 year old was diagnosed with Spindle Cell Sarcoma our heart sank. Our Goldens live nice long lives and all have passed 13 years of age before joining their sisters. When we found out it was a curable cancer we were glad but then came the cost of the procedures. We got Healthy Paws insurance last summer after our young puppy ate some items that cost $4,000 in emergency surgery. We added Molly to that policy. Healthy Paws not only has unlimited claims but also covers cancer. Thanks to Healthy Paws our decision to cure Molly was much easier and assisted us in saving her life. The total costs for the treatment is over $15,000 and it is all covered by Healthy Paws. The claims for the testing and surgery have already been reimbursed and we are now in the middle of the radiation treatments. Thank you Healthy Paws for being their for our Ohana (family)!!! You need pet insurance as much as you need medical insurance for your two legged family memebers and Healthy Paws is "best of breed"!

Quick, quality service
I wasn't sure about getting pet insurance in the first place but recently our little puppy was in the vet for a few different things. I submitted the claims and within a day I got and email saying they were being processed and about two days later received another email letting me know what our reimbursement would be. We got the checks a few days later and I got an email asking how our dog was feeling. Overall great service.

excellend customer service
I purchased insurance for my Goldendoodle Brodie earlier this year hoping, as will all insurance, to never need to use it, but with the high cost of veterinary care felt it was a good idea. I did my research and chose Healthy Paws.A few months later Brodie developed ITP and has needed multiple visits with his veterinarian as well as the emergency clinic. He also is on at least six medications and they have been changing those in an attempt to get his test results in line. I have already sent ten claims for this illness to Healthy Paws and their response has been prompt, accurate, and without question.
