We have both a dog and a cat insured with Healthy Paws. Both pets have had some issues, and Healthy Paws gives us peace of mind knowing that we can always give our pets the best treatment options available without having to worry about costs. We have realized that no matter how good of care we take of our pets, they will occasionally get sick or injured. Even a minor illness or injury can become very costly if special tests or surgery are required. Healthy Paws processes claims in an expedient manner and provides a clear explanations of benefits. Healthy Paws allows us to choose what veterinarian we use and follow his or her recommended course of treatment. They do not require any pre-authorizations and there is no "out-of-network" or alternate reimbursement scale. One major advantage over their competitors is that like our human insurance, their is only one annual deductible, whereas some pet insurers have a "per illness" deductible. They will even review your pets' records for you before you purchase insurance to verify any pre-existing conditions. We have recommended Healthy Paws to our friends and family. Our handsome Cockapoo Smokey suffered a CCL tear about a month ago and underwent surgery to correct the condition just two weeks ago. When our dog almost died a month ago, the last thing we wanted to worry about was the vet bills piling up. It took all our time and energy just taking care of an old and sick animal. Healthy Paws has a very straight forward claims submission process. Since they are popular, many of the Vets are already familiar with them and offered to submit our claim for us. I expected the reimbursement to take months, but they mailed a check out within the week!
