Couldn't be happier

We adopted a dog and within a month, found out she was affected by a genetic health condition. She had to have major hip surgery. Healthy Paws saved the day. Between x-rays, medication, bloodwork, and the surgery the price really wracked up! At the end of it all, our cost out of pocket was only about $600. We have an 80% reimbursement plan so you can imagine all the bills! Claims are super easy to file and process quickly. Should you have a question, they are friendly and helpful. They even followed up after her surgery to see how she was doing!

The Real Deal - no gimmicks

Our Standard Poodle is not quite 3 years old. This month she was either bitten by something (spider?) or ingested something toxic. She was very, very ill for 8 days. I really thought she would die. We visited the emergency vet twice during this time, and our own vet numerous times. Each evening we scanned in our receipt from the vet, and by the next morning we had a processing response from Healthy Paws. We had a previous claim with them in 2012, also with excellent results. The caring and responsiveness of Healthy Paws really helps when you have a seriously ill or injured pet. We will never be without pet insurance!

Quick turn around, covered what they promised.

We adopted our dog Tucker four years ago and last April after a minor health scare (allergic reaction) we decided to take the plunge and purchase insurance for him and our other dog. Over the Christmas holidays Tucker started getting sick (vomiting) and after several panicked trips to the emergency vet an ultrasound reveled a foreign body that needed to be removed surgically. Healthy Paws covered exactly what the policy said they'd cover which was 90% of everything less the exam fees. It took under the ten business days they promised to get the check out once we'd submitted our claim, really appreciated that. Each time we called with questions they answered them succinctly and clearly and went the extra mile to help us track down Tucker's previous medical history (we'd adopted him while serving in the military and his records were spread over several states). A tip to other pet owners: when you contact your veterinarian's office for records ensure they end you the narrative treatment history not just the invoices, the treatment history is necessary for reimbursement. Healthy Pets followed up with us inquiring about Tucker's health which I thought was nice. Bottom line: they covered exactly what the policy claimed to cover and got us our reimbursement in less time then they promised so we'd definitely recommend them to other pet owners.

Thank Goodness for Healthy Paws!

I had to learn the hard way about having pet insurance but luckily I did. I have three cats insured with Healthy Paws and never had an issue, but of course I never had to file a claim. Then came TobySky. A beautiful husky that was left for dead. I was nursing him back to health in hopes of adopting him out. I knew I needed insurance but lets face it an old dog getting insurance??? I was skeptical but determined. I made sure Toby had all of his shots and got blood work, with a clean bill of health I applied to Healthy Paws and they accepted him with open arms. It wasn't a moment too soon because a few months later Toby developed dry eye syndrome and while on medication, his beautiful blue eye developed a deep ulcer (a complication that apparently can happen with dry eye). The day I found out I had to rush him to the emergency hospital and his eye was operated on. The bill was $2700. Without insurance he would have lost the eye as I would not have been able to afford the surgery. When I submitted the claim I was nervous, wondering if they would find some kind of loophole not to pay, but within 24hrs I received an email the claim was processing and another 24hrs later it was processed. Two days! Totally unheard of for insurance but that wasn't the end, a few days later they sent me an email just to check in on Toby. I am very fortunate to have found Healthy Paws. I am happy that all my pets are under them, the peace of mind is priceless. BTW we have decided to ke
