reputable company and recommend them

I reviewed a few pet insurance policies on line and asked a couple of friends who have pet insurance. I made my decision to go with Healthy Paws (I do like their name) based on their literature and speaking w/ them. So far, they have reimbursed me the 80% of everything that they say is covered so they are true to their words. They also process their claims most faster than human insurance companies. I highly recommend them to anyone with a pet.

All Customer Service should be this great

My dog, Brady, a Morkie, recently became ill. I had to take her to the vet while on vacation in Florida. She's my baby, and her health is of the utmost concern to me, and thankfully, the vet was able to give her fluids and meds to make her feel better. But, ooh boy the sticker shock of the bill. I was grateful that I had insurance. I submitted my claim and emailed customer service. They are incredibly prompt with response, and genuinely kind. They processed my claim within 2 days. I'm very glad I picked Healthy Paws, and would recommend them to anyone.

Healthy Paws offers superior coverage for seniors

In 2012, when I chose Healthy Paws for my cats, it was after having dome a fair amount of research. At the time, Healthy Paws was one of the few insurers that would cover older pets, such as my then 12 year old female cat. Healthy Paws was also the only insurer that I found, at that time, to offer continuous coverage for older pets. For those who are unfamiliar with insurance jargon, continuous coverage means that illnesses or injuries that show up while a pet is covered, will continue to be covered as long as the policy is in force, (as long as the pet is alive, and the premiums are paid.) Insurance plans that do not offer continuous coverage will generally cover a disease for the policy term in which the disease is diagnosed, but will consider the disease a pre-existing condition when the policy is renewed at the next term, usually the next year. What this means in real life is that a pet that develops diabetes, for instance, will have the diabetes covered for a year with a non-continuous coverage policy. The next year, after the policy is renewed, the diabetes will no longer be covered. Healthy Paws' continuous coverage plans are worth seeking, because they allow pet parents to keep giving their pets high quality care year after year, not just for the first year after something pops up. This type of consistent, high quality care made all the difference for me and for my oldest insured cat, my soon to be 15 year old little girl. My girl has, like many older ladies, arthri

Peace of Mind at a Tough Time

If you are reading this review, it is because you love your pet and want to provide the best care possible in the event of illness or injury. I wasn't looking for a return on investment, just some peace of mind. While there have been many advances in veterinary medicine, it can be costly. I'd had a few minor claims for my Yellow Lab, Josie, and they were always handled well. Josie wasn't feeling well - vomiting, lethargy and lack of appetite. I brought her to me vet 3 times over a 2-week period. The vet assured me it wasn't serious - just a UTI. She was wrong. I took Josie to Tufts, but she did not survive - liver and kidney failure. She was only 3 1/2 yrs. old. Healthy Paws has been very supportive, sympathetic and processed each claim very quickly, usually in a week's time. The owners and the employees are pet owners themselves and they understand the bond we have with our pets. That is why Healthy Paws is the top rated pets insurance company and why I wouldn't hesitate to to purchase another policy from them.
