Please read if you currently have or thinking about getting healthy paws

Ive had healthy paws for 5 years coming up next month and submited a claim in 2018, healthy paws payed me for this claim without recieveing records even thou in their policy they REQUIRE records within 12 months of singing up. This is important because this record 12 months of signing up they use as a base line for your pet (would make more sense to only sign you up if they have this but it benifits them in the end). So if they dont request records like they should that first year or any of the following years informing you they need it when your dog gets a life changing diagnosis at 5 years old and lots of vet bills they can say this is their baseline now because your previous vet permanently closed and you have no coverage even thou you have been paying monthly for 5 years straight. I recomending staying away because they are very dodgy on the phone and dont see the logic in my dog physically not being able to have the same diagnosis at 1 years old and just keep repeating their flawed policies over and over again. EDIT: seeing as i cant reply to the comment, your company states in every email is some verbiage if this is the first claim we require records if the second or third we have them on file. So you make people think you have it already but you dont. Also its funny that you declined my 7th claim due to findings on my 2nd claim that you now consider my baseline exam but you approved my 2nd claim? Your entire buisness is structured around not recieveing the correct information until life threatning diseases are found then you enforce them. Ruining peoples lives that have relied on you for 5 YEARS..... thank you again for destroying my finacial life from trusting almost 100$ a month to you to cover nothing. Their staff also send emails requesting for records every claim i know this because on the phone trying to figure out my 6th claim they declined and now stating they are declining coverage on all futher claims they told me this. I also had to call multiple times to have them find this email and upload it into the records. So i know they requested it on the first claim and i know my vet that is now closed sent it but they lost it and now wont admit to their mistake.

Worst pet insurance experience ever

This was literally the worst pet insurance experience of my lifetime. I recently changed the insurance I had for my two dogs to Healthy Paws. When I filed my very first claim I received a long list of "pre-existing conditions" that I was informed would not be covered by my policy. One included "hip issues." My dog is 3 and has never experienced a hip issue. What happened, and was documented in her record, was that I asked my vet when she was a puppy if I should give her glucosamine as a preventative to prevent any hip issues. My vet endorsed that and documented that in my dog's record (that she's taking glucosamine). This resulted in me being informed that if my dog ever had a hip issue it would not be covered by Healthy Paws. They also went through a litany of other issues that would not be covered which were also questions that my vet documented. My dog is literally completely healthy but after changing insurance plans she is now tagged as having multiple pre-existing conditions that she won't be covered for. I have canceled my policy and gone back to ASPCA. I have never been so disappointed by an insurance plan. In my opinion, this company is simply looking for ways to deny claims and collect premiums. I absolutely do not endorse using this company under any circumstances and recommend avoiding them if you are looking for quality insurance coverage for your pet.

Our 4 year old dog recently injured her…

Our 4 year old dog recently injured her leg and had to have surgery. From her emergency room visit to her surgery the claim process through Healthy Paws was quick and easy. I just photocopied the receipts from those visits and submitted them through the app. I received my payment a week after I submitted my claim. The ease of the process allowed us to focus on our dogs recovery and not worry about the insurance process. I only wish our healthcare coverage was as efficient!
