Bad Knees

When our pup was a year old he was run over by a bike! I had purchased Healthy Paws after studying every insurance co. I could find. Took me all night! But I was so right in choosing Healthy Paws! Hardly any paperwork, after the initial waiting period, this happened. First surgery was done by a board certified vet we asked for! Two days after surgery we sent in bills. One week later we got back an $1800 check! We paid a total of $200 total! Six months later other knee went out! Same thing! $2000 bill, week later $1800 check! It was so easy and so fast and everyone is so kind! I tell everyone about Healthy Paws. I've never tried any other ins. But I know I've found the best for our pup!

Healthy Paws was there when I needed them.

I have a two year old Corgi who didn't finish her dinner on June 7, 2014 and then wouldn't eat her breakfast the next morning June 8, 2014. I told my husband that we needed to take her to our emergency hospital because it was Sunday and our personal veterinarian was closed. We were very anxious about what could be wrong with our dog. Sabrina was weighed and her temperature was taken and it showed she had a fever. Upon examination the veterinarian noticed she also showed pain when touched in a couple of places on her back. That meant we were dealing with two issues rather than just one. More tests were done. The blood tests showed she had an infection and an X-ray was done to try and find out the cause of pain in her back. Then the veterinarian had to figure out what kind of infection she had. We were able to get Sabrina to drink some water so then she had a bladder full enough to take a urine sample. The test came back positive for a bladder infection. However, the back issue would require more tests and our veterinarian chose to apply a more conservative approach for the back issue with kennel rest and steroids for three weeks. While waiting at the emergency hospital that Sunday morning I was so relieved and comforted knowing that my husband and I chose to get insurance for Sabrina when we first brought her home December 19, 2013. The veterinarian was able to do the necessary tests to find out why she wasn't eating and why she was having back pain. We were able to rule out t

Awesome Customer Service

I submitted three claims within a couple weeks for my Clumber Spaniel for ear infection, eye infection & hospitalization for ingesting a Tide POD. Healthy Paws quickly acknowledged receipt of each claim & processed them quickly. They are easy to reach if any questions come up. Their customer service is excellent & they always send a follow-up email to see how your pet is doing. I've had Healthy Paws insurance for both my dogs since 2010. I've recently add a kitten & added him to my policy.

Healthy Paws: Peace of Mind at a Difficult Time!

As a first time pet owner, I really didn't know what to expect when owning a cat. I thought pet insurance would probably be a good idea. After researching different plans, I bought Healthy Paws Insurance when my little cat was 3 months old and I am so glad I did. She recently had to have surgery to remove clumps of MY hair that were stuck in her intestines. I couldn't believe it. I was so scared because the vets couldn't see what was wrong in x-rays and they had to do a bunch of tests until they decided to do exploratory surgery. At the time, I was seeing that bill add up and it gets really scary. I couldn't help but think what is my limit to save my little love THEN I remembered I have Healthy Paws! I felt so much relief at that moment. Once everything was settled, I downloaded the claim forms and gave them to my vet for all information to be submitted. Healthy Paws provided great service and information for me to get my covered costs reimbursed. Since it was my first claim, it took about 3 weeks, mostly because the vet assistant didn't send all the medical records when the claim was submitted, otherwise I definitely would have been settled sooner. Healthy Paws kept me up to date on what was still missing and how the process was going. I would definitely recommend Healthy Paws.

Grateful for Healthy Paws

My dog Ben has been insured with Healthy Paws for over 2 years now, and I'm still happy with the decision. They've added a new feature for filing claims: all that's needed is an upload of the invoice from your vet to your account on their site, no forms or signatures needed. There was a claim for a test last Wednesday that I uploaded the same day: the check from Healthy Paws came yesterday, and the results of the test won't be in until Friday. I've had coverage with with other companies - one required a diagnosis to pay claims. We don't know for sure what's going on, so I'm grateful to have coverage that will pay anyhow. I'd really rather have a healthy dog, but since right now I don't, I'm glad I have Healthy Paws.
