If you have a pet, you need pet insurance
I adopted my dog Walter through a rescue and decided to try out pet insurance. The rescue recommended Healthy Paws. It's been a great investment. Walter's had several incidences of illness and one accident. I would never hesitate to take him to his vet even if I didn't have pet insurance, but this is such a good idea. I have insurance, why shouldn't my pet. Healthy Paws is quick to process and they even follow up with a personal note to see how your pet is. What a warm feeling. Happiness is a warm puppy who is covered by Healthy Paws.

Great service, helpful, and easy to process claims
We have been extremely pleased with Healthy Paws! It's simple to submit a claim and payment is processed quickly. The plan is simple and everyone we've worked with has been very helpful. Our dog recently had surgery and they even sent an email to check in and see how she was doing. I thought it was a great touch! It may not be the cheapest plan out there, but the service, ease of use, and coverage has been excellent. I would absolutely recommend Healthy Paws.

Healthy Paws is excellent insurance; a must have!
I've never purchased pet insurance before, but after $10K+ in vet bills for my cat, I changed my tune. My sister researched insurance, and suggested Healthy Paws as the best out there. And they are! The policy is clearly written, so you know what is covered and what is not. And if you get confused, as I sometimes do, the Healthy Paws team is quick and responsive; answering questions and providing clear explanations. The coverage is great; after deductible and not-covered exam fees, my policy covers 90%, no fuss. Claims are handled with exceptional speed! Our 5-year old pup DJ recently had a significant laceration on her hind leg. Luckily, it looked worse than it turned out to be, but it has been a tough couple of weeks. I can say that during the 30 minutes or so of panic, and several hours in emergency services, we never once worried about the bill, because of Healthy Paws insurance.
This morning I received a un-looked for a very sweet follow-up email from Healthy Paws. I see from other reviews it is a standard practice, which I think is wonderful, and shows great customer service! They'd already mailed the reimbursement check within a few days of the claim being filed, but were just checking up to see how DJ was doing. I'm very appreciative of the responsiveness, and genuine caring attitude of Healthy Paws! It is my pleasure to rate them highly here, and encourage all pet owners out there to check out their great website and create a coverage plan for your pet. You will be glad you did!

Great Insurance!!
If you are ever wondering if pet insurance is worth it, I highly recommend it! I purchased this insurance for my mixed breed shep/rott dog and it has paid for itself 10x over already. The claim submittal process is the easiest I've ever had and the reimbursement was so quick. I am amazed and cannot say enough good things about this company.
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
