So good I wish they'd cover me!

Our experience with Healthy Paws has been superlative. It's rare these days to find anything that works as advertised and with the precision and caring of Healthy Paws. Vicky, our pit bull mix, developed an infection and some urinary problems, and Healthy Paws's claim service was simple, clear, efficient, and fast. What's more, a few days after receiving our claim we got an e-mail from Healthy Paws asking us how she was doing. You might think this would be a marketing ploy, but when we responded to it, we got a lovely follow-up message from them. As folks who have dealt with many human health insurance company over the years, we only wish we could have such wonderful care!

Stress Free

Meeka urinated on an area rug. Urinating outside of her box is unusual. I was concerned that Meeka might have an infection. X-Rays and blood tests proved she was/is perfectly healthy.Doctor suggested I change the product I use to clean her box and look to see if some thing outside could be upsetting her. I clean Meeka's box with Dawn now and I've chased away a cat that was going into the back yard and a different cat that was coming to close to the house in front. It's been months and Meeka has not gone outside her box once. Meeka was not physically ill but she was overly stressed. Healthy Paws Insurance processed and reimbursed me before Meeka's blood tests results came in! Than I received a follow up email and the HPI representative was just as pleased as I was to learn that Meeka was/is not "sick" and it was a simple case of her being stressed/upset. I don't know if it was the soap I was using to clean her box, one or both of the strays or a combination of ... Honestly it doesn't matter. All I care about is Meeka is stress free and because of Healthy Paws Insurance I am financially stress free.

Fabulous and Quick responses!

I had to bring my Bella into the emergency vet because she ate two HUGE bars of dark chocolate that were left under the Christmas tree. Scary stuff! I knew it would be a big deal and expensive, but I also knew I had good health insurance with Healthy Paws. $100 deductible and 90% back. We paid with a credit card and a week after we uploaded the photos of the itemized receipt through the Healthy Paws app, we received a check! And then the company followed up with an email--not a form letter but a personal email asking about Bella's specific condition, which they wouldn't know unless they paid close attention to the paperwork we uploaded. It's that extra detail that makes all the difference.

Healthy Paws goes beyond a 10.

Prior to joining the Healthy Paws Insurance "Family" two years ago our now 11 year old Siberian Husky was covered by another well known pet health insurance company. Abruptly this prior company reduced the level of coverage while at the same time significantly increase the monthly premium. Healthy Paws has provided us with better coverage at a monthly cost less than our previous carrier. The speed by which Healthy Paws settles claims, the extent of their coverage and, just as importantly, the caring assistance and follow up correspondence their employees provide are all of great comfort during the times when one's beloved pet is in need of medical care. My wife and I cannot adequately put in words how much Healthy Paws has meant to us in caring for our beloved Husky. We rate Healthy Paws a 10++++ and encourage anyone looking for a Pet Insurance carrier to choose Healthy Paws.

The best, most reliable pet insurance

I have 3 dogs. One of them is exceedingly active and gets into all kinds of trouble. Healthy Paws has always paid for her emergencies/operations in a very timely manner, so long as the info is complete. I highly recommend them, just remember this is only for accidents and not for general preventive care.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $90, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $100, $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
