Worth It Pet Insurance
We decided to have both our rescue dogs insured under Healthy Paws based on the annual deductible, benefits and coverage they offer. Our older dog has been insured since 2011 while the younger dog since 2014. The application process was very straightforward. 2014 has been an "eventful" year for our older dog, Bradford. He was presenting unusual symptoms of incontinence and had undergone several diagnostic tests. Bradford was diagnosed with diabetes insipidus and is now on daily medication which can be quite expensive. Healthy Paws covered what was stated in our policy - $100.00 annual deductible and 90% reimbursements for diagnostics, treatments, medications, etc. except for exams/consultations. In addition, Bradford was hospitalized around Thanksgiving for an infection. We were so glad we had pet insurance to help with the vet expenses. It definitely says something when your vet tells you that we've become one of their "top clients" based on the frequency that we have taken Bradford to the vet. We were hoping that 2015 would be a better and more healthy year but on Bradford's birthday, we rushed him to the emergency clinic to undergo surgery for GDV. The cost of the surgery was over $6,000++. Having pet insurance has made it manageable and affordable for us to save Bradford from a life-threatening condition. As always, their claims process is very expedient and reimbursement checks are received in the mail within 10 business days. Healthy Paws has made it a very easy and worry-free experience for us to give our dogs the proper medical care. Definitely worth it!
