Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I was initially interested in pet insurance after watching my brother nearly go bankrupt after his two dogs had separate liver and spine issues. My future mother-in-law raved about Healthypaws, but being my future mother-in-law, I took what she had to say with a grain of salt. I initially reviewed my options and really only considered the price. Laurie, my future mother-in-law constantly proclaimed how easy the claim paperwork was (you can seriously just drag and drop a pdf file...), and how quickly she was reimbursed. She had had quite the experience because her pit/lab had blown out both his ACLs... You will always wonder if insurance is worth it until you need it.Fast forward 10 months, and we now have two dogs, that are both covered. We notice that my lab/shepherd has a limp but I assume it is nothing more than a pulled muscle. Three weeks later, with no progress, we determine that she has blown out her ACL as well! As a note, we pay for 90% coverage with a $100 deductible. From initial consult to completion of surgery, we have paid approximately $480. The total cost of the surgery was over $3,800... Here is where Healthpaws really stood out to me. First, they paid the cost of the surgery up front. I never even had to file a claim to be reimbursed, so at the vet I paid only my 10%. Second, I have received multiple personal emails from members of their service team following up on the progress of my dog. It is a level of service that is rarely found and truly refreshing. Healthpaws is clearly a company where the employees embody their mission and values. I have decided to create a second income stream for myself by referring as many people as I can to them, because I am truly believe they are the best on the market.

My poor 4 month old lab puppy had a foxtail stuck in his nose. The vet bill was 830$ which made me nervous. I filed the necessary paper work and in about a week I had a check from Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. They cover just about anything you'll need. They also sent me an email checking up on Mateo. Customer service is amazing. I'm very happy. With a dog like mine, I'm sure I'll need them again.

My 5lb dog was recently attacked by the neighbor's German Shepherd. As if that itself wasn't a stressful experience, we get to the ER and they quote us at almost $2k for the surgery. We submitted the claim late-Sunday and by Tuesday morning, the claim was processed and we received a check a couple of days after that. SUCH a lifesaver and a relief to have! On top of all that, a representative from the company reached out to us to make sure that our dog was recovering ok. I'm so happy that we're a part of the Healthy Paws family, thrilled with the service we received, and relieved that my fur-babies have great coverage!

Our 6 1/2-year-old Lab, Jack, has been experiencing some continuing digestive issues since April. He was seen by our regular vet, and then referred to an internal medicine specialist. Jack has been extensively tested and the tests were expensive, but, like many pet parents, we would do anything to make sure our pets have the best care. We are extremely thankful that we have Healthy Paws pet insurance to assist with these expenses! Our multiple claims have been very promptly processed and reimbursement checks delivered quickly. We have received regular email communications all along the way to keep us informed of the process. We were also very pleasantly surprised to receive an email inquiring about Jack and sending best wishes for his recovery. We are so glad to have them as a partner in our pets' healthcare!

My sweet dog Waffles was diagnosed with kidney failure likely due to an infection and was in emergency care for almost a week. The treatment was very expensive, in total almost $6000. Thankfully Healthy Paws covered exactly what they said they would without any hassle at all. Without Healthy Paws we might not have been able to afford to save our girl. Thanks!
