Peace of Mind

Gracie, our 8 month old Labrador retriever ingested pieces of a toy designed for "Extreme Chewers". After several days of not feeling well, her symptoms got worse early one morning. We took her to our vet's 24-hour emergency room fearing an obstruction. After the initial exam, our vet presented us with a course of action, including imaging, with an estimated total treatment cost of over $1,000 (only to climb higher if surgery were needed). Confident in our coverage with Healthy Paws, at a time when our puppy wasn't feeling well and needed medical treatment right away, we were able to focus 100% on her care instead of worrying about the cost of treatment. Without hesitation we authorized her course of treatment. I'm happy to report that she's back to her normal, crazy, puppy self. Processing the claim couldn't have been easier: I snapped a photo of the vet bill with my phone and submitted the claim via the app. Even with the holiday weekend, we had our check in less than a week. Thanks again for the peace of mind! With just this once claim, the premiums for Gracie's policy have paid for themselves for the next 18 months!

Excellent Insurance!

After reading reviews I decided to get Healthy Paws insurance just in case, although my dog is mostly indoors and even when outdoors has a penned area. She ate a shelled peanut, which got stuck in her intestine and had to have surgery to get it out. The claims process was very easy and the representatives on the phone and through email were very responsive. I got my checks very quickly (within a few days of submitting all the paperwork)!! Excellent service and extremely grateful that I chose Healthy Paws!!! Recommending to all my friends!

Easiest Claims Submissions Process

This is the third pet insurance company I have had a policy with, and so far, the best, as they have the fewest exclusions and their policy is the easiest to understand. The only difficulty for me was the requirement to submit all vet records since our pet had "joined our family," as we travel between cities/states, so I had to get multiple vet records. Not having to fill out claim forms and get vet signatures compensated for that. Our dog was in the hospital for a week and I was worried that the insurance would not pay for this undiagnosed illness; however, there were no questions asked except, as other reviewers have said, Healthy Paws sent a follow up email to ask how he is feeling.

If it weren't for HealthyPaws...

If it weren't for HealthyPaws, we would have had to give up our puppy. You see, we got Magellan from a rescue that lied to us about the state of his health. Fast forward one month and $2000 in vet bills, and we were pretty stressed -- we knew we couldn't handle that kind of cost for the long term, and had to seriously consider returning our puppy to the rescue where they have the funds to handle major illnesses. HealthyPaws was quick in handling our claim, and fair and transparent in their policies. Thanks to them, we were able to keep our dog and pay for his vet bills without falling into major debt. We received a hopeful diagnosis this past week alongside our reimbursement checks with no hassle. I'd also like to give a major shout out to their phone support team. They were always helpful and always friendly, and helped me navigate the miasma of learning about a new kind of insurance. You folks rock.

Glad I went with Healthy Paws

I read up on pet insurance before I got Leo. I ended up choosing Healthy Paws and signed Leo up for the insurance when he was about 6 months old. Healthy Paws appealed to me because it has an annual deductible (vs. a per incident deductible), and covered genetic conditions too. Because I chose to sign Leo up for insurance when he was young, we didn't have pre-existing conditions that would be excluded in insurance. The customer service reps at Healthy Paws are quick to answer questions--by email or phone--and I loved that during my insurance search. In the two years I have had Leo, we have used his insurance for a bout of tummy issues and dehydration that required an overnight stay at the vet (~$500), and surgery for his left hind ACL tear and luxating patella fix (~$2,000). Healthy Paws is also great in covering holistic treatment options, and has covered Leo's laser therapy treatments to aid in his recovery from surgery. In addition, Healthy Paws has covered Leo's prescription probiotics, glucosamine supplements, and pain meds that were necessary because of his surgery. Healthy Paws has been quick to reimburse me for the covered costs (which is basically everything but the cost of vet exam) and I typically get a check in the mail in about a week. Healthy Paws also recently added an App that makes submitting a claim even easier! I just take a picture of the vet invoice and click the "submit" button. Leo has been covered by Healthy Paws for a couple of years now and we have been so happy with our choice in pet insurance! I love that I can choose the best care for Leo without worrying about cost. The idea of pet insurance may seem silly, but opting for insurance, and choosing Healthy Paws, has definitely proven to be a great decision!
