Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I've been a Healthy Paws customer for 5 years now. They've reimbursed $20,000 in vet bills. This last episode was bloat, emergency surgery, followed by gastroplexy, spleen removal, post surgery infection. I got Healthy Paws when I lost my job and I didn't want to have to make tough decisions based on money. They've reimbursed *EVERYTHING* at 90% without hassle. One time the checks got lost in the mail, and they noticed I hadn't cashed them and proactively emailed me to find out why. I also like that when I contact them I interact with a human - no canned scripted responses. I tell every pet owner I meet about them. I don't know what I would have done without them. I wish my health insurance operated like this.

Our 20 mo old mixed breed became severely dehydrated, couldn't hold down water, couldn't eat, and became noticeably lethargic. We had to take her to a 24 hr emergency vet after hours. After x-ray showed a bowel obstruction, she underwent 12 hours of IV fluids, some stomach meds, and antibiotics. After following a strict regimen for two/three days she fully recovered. It was a very frightening experience and it was INCREDIBLY reassuring knowing that HealthyPaws had our backs financially so we could provide our family pet with the care she needed! Easy to file a claim, quick processing, and quick reimbursment. HP Considerately checked up on her during recovery as well. Helped me by contacting her vet directly for records they needed for claims processing.

Super fast about processing your claim. SO FRIENDLY! These people obviously love pets and seem to really enjoy helping make your experience as smooth and stress free as possible. My cat has needed two unexpected surgeries and both times HP has been amazing. I recommend them to everyone I know!

When our elderly family dog, Daisy, became acutely disabled with pneumonia, Healthy Paws was there working with the emergency Vet hospital, reviewing records and covering the claim. We did the entire process via the iPhone app and the fax at the Vet, making it go quick and easy. We were reimbursed within a week, and they even covered the special medication from the compound pharmacy!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is worth every penny - do not waste time and purchase it! We have both of our dogs on Healthy Paws for years (after being on a different one) and most of the time we didn't use it all - but hey, that's what insurance is. This year however we have had to unfortunately use the insurance and I can't even begin to share how wonderful the entire experience is - from the best customer service representatives, to the speedy claims being processed and paid there is no better pet insurance out there. They just came out with an app for both Apple and Android and as soon as you get that big bill from the vet, snap a picture and submit the claim and you'll have a check within a week; I wish human insurance was like that! Our dog is on the road to recovery and we know that no matter what is needed to help our little pup there will be no worries because we not only have pet insurance, but the best one out there!
