Really glad I bought this insurance!

When my cat Betty was 8 years old, she developed lung cancer. After $4000 in vet bills, she had to be euthanized anyway. So I learned my lesson and got insurance when I adopted two young cats. When my cat Dexter was 3 years old, he ate a long piece of cotton cording that got stuck in his small intestine. Two ultrasounds confirmed that he would need surgery to remove the cording. The total bill was $6100, of which I paid about $1500. $1500 is still a lot of money, but it's way better than $6100, which I would have paid to save Dexter, but I'm very glad I didn't have to.

Healthy Paws & recent experience shared.

When we decided to buy our Boston Terrier puppy, we knew simultaneously that having pet insurance was just a natural fit. I researched EVERY, single, pet insurance company/plan, before going with Healthy Paws. Were there other policies that had different options or cheaper plans - yes. But when we truly evaluated the pros vs cons, read the "fine print," having a 90% coverage option (for our puppy's age), no limits, low deductibles and much more - it just felt right. Fast forward 18 months. As with any unexpected injury (torn knee ligaments), it was one less thing to worry about knowing Healthy paws was there from beginning to end and beyond. They communicated with us expeditiously, handled our claims in less than a couple days, and we were blown away by their follow-up & concern for the well-being of our dog post-op. Everyone has good and bad experiences, but for us, recommending pet insurance through Healthy Paws is an easy one - without hesitation. Hope this helps anyone who's on the proverbial decision fence.

I'm glad we had healthy paws

I got Rosie, a mix breed rescue in Nov 2010. She has been the best and I have not had a problem with her in the 5 years we are together. This summer she had pain in her jaw which turned out not to be her jaw at all but pressure from an abscess behind her eye socket. It was drained in emergency and she was hospitalized for 6 days. It was a very traumatic situation. I then had to nurse her back to health over the next month. I almost lost my girl but today, she is back and almost good as new (hair is still growing back) Healthy paws could not have been more responsive and fair or timely to deal with. They even showed genuine concern for her recovery. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Thank you Healthy Paws.

Awesome

Healthy Paws has been fantastic. All of our claims are paid in a timely manner, the ease of submitting them through their app is fantastic. And both times our dog has had major surgeries I get very caring e-mails from Healthy Paws checking up on her!

Thankful Parent

When I rescued my dogs, I was recommended to get them per insurance. I have to say honestly it wasn't something I was thinking of doing but I followed my friend's advice, did some research and got them policies with Healthy Paws. A few months later, I came home from work one afternoon, only to find that my boy Casper was terribly ill. We rushed him to the pet ER where we were told the next day that he would have to undergo surgery. What should have been a routine 2hr surgery become 7. They discovered he had an intussuception, which would also require several days in the hospital for recovery. Needless to say the medical bill was extensive. Not only was it easy to send the claim in to Healthy Paws, the kept me updated on the entire process, and it only took days for me to be informed that my claim was approved. The team at Healthy Paws was the nicest, caring and most understand I have ever dealt with, and their efficiency allowed me to focus on what was most important, Casper's recovery. I am happy to report that Casper is recovering well and is getting stronger every day. I can't thank Healthy Paws enough and would highly recommend them anyone.
