Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I have used several pet insurance companies over the years for previous pets we've had, and I only recently learned about Healthy Paws. They had strong ratings and good word of mouth reputation, so I gave them a try with our new puppy. He had a couple unexpected issues pop-up simultaneously (a stomach bug, a skin infection, and also a muscle strain/sprain), and we were able to easily file all of his claims and clearly read the explanations of benefits from Healthy Paws. Their lightning fast claims review (sometimes the same day) and super prompt reimbursements have been much appreciated.The process is super easy w/ their mobile phone app, and they follow their contract policy to the letter. I think their premiums are fair and reasonable as well. Very happy customer.

Our 4 month old Golden Doodle "Chompx" suffered kidney failure. He was hospitalized in ICU for 2 weeks before being transferred to UF for dialysis. The bill was approximately $18k. Within hours of his discharge from the first hospital I had an email from Healthy Paws closing out the claim and confirming that a check for 90% - our deductible was on the way. Throughout this process, HP has checked in on Chompx, and shown genuine concern for our little man. When we were first told he was to be hospitalized, HP offered support and told us just to focus on Chompx. That was such a relief. I expected there would be issues with reimbursement, that seems to be the issue with all insurance companies.. there was no issue, no fuss, no drama. I had the reimbursement check within days! Afterwards, they emailed to check on Chompx as well. Throughout this nightmare, they have shown genuine concern for Chompx and they have taken the biggest burden off our minds as we focus on Chompx's recovery. Simple, flawless, expedited reimbursement for your pet's medical needs. Finally a pet insurance that actually does what it says. I've never had a dog with any serious medical issue such as this, I never thought I'd need this, but I am so glad we had it. I will never risk being without Healthy Paws pet insurance again, because no matter how careful you are, anything can happen. Throughout our crisis with Chompx (over 5 weeks in ICU) we've seen countless owners forced to make the ultimate sacrifice with their beloved pets simply because of finances. It's been heartbreaking to see this happen over and over again. Whatever the end result is with Chompx (still ongoing) we know that because of Healthy Paws, we have been able to provide the very best possible outcome for him and that every measure has been taken to give him a chance for a full recovery. Without this policy, our hands would have been forced long ago. If you love your pet, get the insurance. Don't wait.

After Flicker ( our Doxie / terrier mix ) sprained his ankle in an accident , Healthy Paws took care of all claims filed in a timely and " no hassle " manner ! Signing up for Healthy Paws insurance is by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They have been the most amazing, reliable company. I can’t speak highly enough of them for the confidence and the peace of mind they give me. I have submitted HUGE claim after claim because my dog has just had some serious health issues from the very beginning and they are ALWAYS responsive and provide the exact service they advertise. I get 90% of all my claims after my $250 annual deductible, every single time. Banjo (my dog) has had a plethora of health issues since I brought him home. He was born with luxating patella stage 3 in both back legs, and had to have surgery only a couple months after I brought him home. Then when he was about 1 the vet thought it was a bowel obstruction and he had another surgery, but it turned out he did not have an obstruction but rather his intestines had swollen almost shut from food allergies. About a month ago (he’s not even 2 yet) he started limping again, had x-rays and turned out he had torn all the ligaments in his knee and had to have yet another surgery on his leg. Healthy Paws has been there for us through every single obstacle. He’s the happiest most loving dog, despite all the health problems he has had and I get to provide him with the health care he needs to have a full and complete life thanks to Healthy Paws.
