Beware of Increaseing Premiums

Beware. Healthy Paws raises my premiums every year. Unfortunately, they know how difficult it is for you to get a policy with another company because of pre existing conditions.

Very dissatisfied

We have been satisfied with this company until last year. Since the Summer of 2022 the insurance has not reimbursed us for any veterinary/emergency visits for our beagle. They don’t reply anymore to the phone, you cannot leave a message, and whenever I wrote to them the past 8 months I got an automatic reply, see below: Hello, Thank you for your email. We’ll review your claims submission and contact you shortly. Please visit us online for Frequently Asked Questions and answers about the policy at www.healthypaws.com/frequent-questions. We can be reached via phone call during the following times: Account Management & Enrollments Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Time Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Time Claims Assistance Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm Pacific Time Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Time Warmest regards, Healthy Paws Customer Care Being sent on behalf of Stephanie Owens CA Lic. #0D28042 I also emailed to the company’s CEO and don’t know what to do, except to hire a lawyer or go to Small Court?? Very upsetting Are they bankrupted?? No idea

Catherine, We truly appreciate you being part of the Healthy Paws family for over 12 years. We're sorry that your recent customer service experience did not meet your or our expectations. In regards to your claims, your 2022 claim was not eligible for coverage under the behavioral exclusion in your plan. Your other claims were either processed/covered and applied to your deductible or denied since they were for a condition that was noted as being pre-existing prior to your enrollment or during the plan waiting period. We do our best to be transparent throughout our website, during the enrollment process and in the plan documents available to each client in their online Healthy Paws account regarding the limited exclusions of our plan. Those exclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation). Anyone visiting our website can see this information on our “Benefits, Coverage and Exclusions” page.

Seven years of great coverage and service

We are very satisfied with Healthy Paws pet insurance. The mobile app makes it super easy to submit a claim and the review/reimbursement process always moves quickly with good communication and responsiveness. I highly recommend and appreciate their efforts for personalized follow up.

Great Company

I’ve had Healthy Paws insurance on 4 of my dogs over the past dozen years. They remain consistently great to work with. Claims are simple to submit and processed quickly. It is very easy to understand coverage, and I don’t ever find myself fighting to get a claim paid out. I got a new puppy a few months ago and didn’t think twice about immediately enrolling her with Healthy Paws. When she needed emergency treatment a few months later, I didn’t have to consider cost at all. Sure enough, Healthy Paws paid the claim within a week. I highly recommend this company!

Great Company

Monthly Cost

$15 – $90, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $100, $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
