Healthy Paws has been fantastic to deal with, reasonably priced for monthly premium, easy to submit claims, quick processing and receipt of claim funds and kind and caring staff who helped us greatly when our 2 year old black lab tore her cruciate ligament and needed a $4700 surgery. They covered 90% of the surgery which made it a very easy process for us so we could focus on our dog's needs without worrying about money.
They've followed up with us to see how she is healing post operatively.,
I am thrilled I chose Healthy Paws after extensive research. I HIGHLY recommend them and tell everyone I know!
I have three pets and I began to think about acquiring pet health insurance. I was not looking forward to having yet another monthly bill, but I thought it was a good idea to have insurance if any of my family's beloved pets became ill or had a sudden accident. I did plenty of research before deciding on Healthy Paws, and I located and carefully read all the 'fine print" on theirs and other insurance carriers' contracts. Healthy Paws was straight forward and not too expensive, and I also noticed in my research what appeared to be many real and satisfied customers. My older pet understandably required a higher deductible, and as with almost all pet insurance carriers, pre-existing conditions were not covered. However, the deductible was not too high and was payable every year, NOT every incident like other insurance carriers. About 8-months after signing up for Healthy Paws, my 11 year old male cat had a urinary blockage, that led to a bladder rupture, that quickly spiraled beyond the expertise of my vet and required a specialist and also emergency care/hospitalization. The bills quickly piled on to amounts that weakened my knees, but luckily, I had savings, and I wasn't sure if Healthy Paws would hold up its end of the bargain once I submitted my pets' history and invoices. Surprisingly, there was about a one-week turn around for each claim (shorter amount of time than they indicated), and I was reimbursed as promised with no complications.
Through a tough battle, my cat was saved, and is currently in recovery, and I was able to focus on getting him better with the comfort of knowing that I had an honest and ethical insurance company to cover the majority of the bills as they promised they would.
Being ethical and an insurance company are two things that are usually not expected to go hand-in-hand, but my emergency experience with Healthy Paws has restored my faith that there are actually companies still out there trying to do right by their customer. Our family has their best friend back, and our cat was able to get the best treatment possible. When considering pet insurance, read the fine print before signing up, and keep in mind my experience, because if there's the slightest chance your pet can survive an emergency situation, Healthy Paws will afford you peace of mind so that you can focus on finding that chance and possibly enjoy many more years with your pet/companion/best-friend.

100% Satisfied
When we got our dog at 13 weeks old, I dove into extensive research to pick a pet insurance. We had lost out last dog to a catastrophic illness and after spending over $5,000 and still losing her, I knew I wanted pet insurance so we would always be able to get our dog the bear care without worrying about money. We had several small claims at first and found Healthy Paws very easy to deal with and claims were processed quickly. Our policy reimburses at 90% after a $100 deductible.
Several months ago, our dog started limping. After work up for tick borne illnesses, X-rays, trial of meds and rest, it was determined she needed to see a specialist. She was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament and needed surgery. I called Healthy Paws and inquired if they ever pay the surgeon directly. Arrangements were made for a direct payment and we would be responsible only to pay out our 10%. They said they consider this for expensive procedures. The surgery was completed a week later and totaled over $4700. We paid out 10% when we picked her up. Healthy Paws has made it possible for us to treat our dog based on what she needs not on what we can afford. They are kind and caring, even emailed me to check on how she is doing. They are a company with integrity, they help shelter animals and I love that.
People always say they don't think pet insurance is worth the cost of the monthly premium and I wholeheartedly disagree! I tell everyone I know about Healthy Paws and encourage people to consider insuring their pet.
I'm a very happy customer!!

HealthyPaws is truly the BEST!
I have nothing but fantastic things to say about HealthyPaws. We switched insurance companies to Healthy Paws a few years ago because we predicted that our boy, Maker- a big American Bulldog, may get hip dysplasia. Well, he doesn't have hip dysplasia but he had to undergo a major surgery (TPLO) on his right hind leg/knee. The journey began with visits to his vet, pain meds, a consultation with an ortho surgeon, then finally his surgery. The whole process is very time consuming, but Healthy Paws helped alleviate a lot of our stress! Sending in a claim is extremely easy and their turnaround time is unbelieveably quick compared to the previous insurance company we used. Not only did they process Maker's many claims so quickly, they even emailed to see how he was doing. Wonderful customer service like that during a time of stress helps so much. I constantly recommend Healthy Paws to others, and I am more than happy we have them by our side. Truly worth it!
