Labrador Major Surgery

Our lab swallowed a 14" sock and became extremely sick. He had to have majoe surgery to remove the obstruction in his intestine. Total bill was $4699 and Healthy Paws covered $3509 after the $250 deductible and 80% coverage. We received the check in 3 days after the claim was submitted. This is the first time that I have purchased pet insurance. I will never be without pet insurance on any pet I have in the future.

Peace of Mind

We've been with Healthy Paws a year now and they have had the opportunity to help us a few times. Very grateful for their assistance with our family's veterinary care. Filing a claim is easy to do with their app and they are very responsive, quick and painless. The last incident they covered included surgery to remove a foreign body after our doberman started vomiting Knowing that they were there to help kept us from worrying about money so we could do what was best for our dog. Grateful to have her home and recovering well and so glad all our pets are covered by Healthy Paws.

I am a customer for life!

I just had the most amazing experience with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I purchased Pet Insurance a few months and I am so glad I did. Today was the third time I took my puppy to the vet this week as he has been throwing up and not eating. His vet bills were $400 from earlier this week and today he ended up have a surgery (to remove an object he swallowed) that cost an additional $1,800.Healthy Paws has been so amazing through the whole stressful process. They have been so friendly, compassionate, and so easy to work with! I submitted my first two claims with their super easy iPhone app. When I was told he was going to have surgery I called Healthy Paws to see if there was anyway they could help upfront and they gave me a few options. My vet said they typically don't deal directly with Pet Insurance companies because they have had some bad experiences. Healthy Paws went above and beyond and called my vet, talked them, and paid for 80% of my dogs surgery (that is the plan I selected) before I even arrived to pick him up! I didn't know they did this until I showed up at the vet and my bill was $1,500 less than I expected! They made my life easier and my vet said they were the best insurance company they had ever worked with! I highly encourage everyone to go with Healthy Paws! They made a very stressful and emotional day was easier to handle!

Healthypaws Pet insurance truly a life saver

When we insured our two dogs with Helathypaws, we never thought we were actually going to need them as much as we did. Then, the unexpected happened. And unfortunately happened twice. In August of 2013, while driving home from the dog park, the rear hatch of our BMW X3 released by itself, and opened the tailgate of the car. I was driving, and while I immediately slammed on the brakes, our female german shepherd fell out at almost 50 mph. In the fall she broke her front arms, was covered in lacerations and abrasions, and broke her front teeth. We immediately rushed her to the ER, where they were thankfully able to save her and repair most of the damage. It took a total of over 2 years, and part of the recovery (dental) is still ongoing. Immediately, the bills started to pile up, to the tune of thousands and thousands of dollars. I filed my first claim with HealthyPaws, and I had a check in my hands in less than 2 weeks. That has been true ever since for every treatment of our shepherd. The unexpected hit our family again in December of 2015, when our Boerboel suddenly showed signs of lack of appetite. When we brought him to the vet, we thought that he may have had a stomach bug, because at 4 years old, he was strong and otherwise healthy. What we learned that day was that instead he had a very rare form of leukemia. And an acute form of that. Within a few hours he was needing a transfusion of blood, and 48 hours later he unfortunately passed while Drs were trying to do everything possible to save him. The devastation of loosing our sweet boy on that ER table was unbearable. Yet, the reality of the financial bills associated with his treatment, was still there. We had bills for over 6,000 dollars! We compiled the records and sent them to the insurance. A few days later, we received a very sweet email. Our claim adjuster had read the medical records and had seen Loui had passed. They sent us a condolence email, and not only did they send us a check, but they also credited our card with the prorated balance of Loui's coverage. Frankly, without their intervention, I do not know when I would have been able to actually cancel his plan. In short, in 2012, when we signed up, we never thought we'd have used them...but we thought "why not?". They have proven to be nicer than one could ever expect from an insurance company, and they have shown, time and time again, to be an outstanding service. Truly cannot recommend them enough.
