Healthy Paws Has Been a Lifesaver

I purchased Healthy Paws a few months before I took a road trip two years ago. I made sure that I had a full comprehensive physical exam (bloodworm etc) done early on to show that my dog was healthy. I felt that this would help with any future claims I may have to make. Long story short - a few months after getting insurance for my pup, she became devastatingly ill. Despite being on a topical flea/tick preventative, she contracted ehrlichia (like Lyme Disease). The symptoms were dramatic - extreme lethargy, limping, swollen joints, weight loss - It took lots of tests and even a joint tap to see that she indeed had the infection. Over $1000 later and she was feeling much better! Healthy paws paid out 90% on every claim I made! Then, my vet notices that the limping was not just due to the ehrlichia, my dog had a recent partially torn cruciate ligament - perhaps due to weakness/muscle wasting from the ehrlichia. Over $4000 later for surgery and she's got full range of motion and is happily walking and running with ease (although we don't play ball any more after finding out how hard it is on their joints/ligaments). Well, I wish I could say that was the last of it, but there have been two trips to the emergency vet - once for a relapse of the ehrlichia and another time after my dog started vomiting during a camping trip. Thank god she ended up being fine, but dogs can scare the heck out of you and it is such a relief to know that if something major comes up you won't have to sell your house to pay the vet bills. My dog goes everywhere with me and I watch her like a hawk. She's extremely well trained and is even my "demo dog" for training consultations (I'm a dog trainer). No matter how much you train and care for your dog, if you take them out into the world, you never know what can happen. Also, Healthy Paws covers congenital illness, so even if you're dog/cat lives in a bubble, they are still covered if genetic illness or cancer strikes. I recommend Healthy Paws to all of my training clients and many of them sign up, and several have had to make claims that more than covered their monthly rate and premium. Healthy Paws is GREAT!!!

Very happy with Healthy Paws!

We have insured our dog, Joey, through Healthy Paws for over 4 years. Always outstanding service! Just needed expensive surgery to repair torn ACL and Healthy Paws once again processed everything quickly, and also followed up to find out how Joey was recovering.

Excellent Pet Insurance

Our 2-year-old boxer Billie developed severe idiopathic thrombocytopenia perpura, and autoimmune disease where the body destroys its own blood platelets. She has been hospitalized three times so far, requiring blood transfusions and expensive medications, with medical bills totaling over $13,000. Healthy Paws Insurance has covered everything they said they would: 80% of all medically necessary costs--excluding vet exam fees-- after the deductible. The online claim process is easy and convenient, and they process claims quickly and send a check within weeks. Customer service is great; they respond quickly to emails, and their phone reps are courteous and very helpful. Because they have no annual or per-incident cap, we have peace of mind, as Billie requires ongoing medication and care. They have been a lifesaver for our beloved pet. We recommend it highly. I only wish our human health insurance was this good....

Excellent Insurance

Our boxer Billie became very ill last December with ITP, an autoimmune disease where the body destroys its own blood platelets. She's been hospitalized three times since then, requiring multiple blood transfusions and costly medications. Her medical bills have totaled over $13,000 so far. I don't know what we would have done without Healthy Paws Insurance, which has covered everything they said they would: 80% of all costs (excluding physicians' fees) after the $250 deductible. The online claim process has been easy and convenient, and they have processed each claim quickly, sending me a check for each claim within weeks. They respond quickly to email, and their phone representatives have been helpful and caring. Billie's health concerns are ongoing, and she requires expensive medication. Because Healthy Paws has no annual or per-incident cap, we have peace of mind. We researched carefully before we purchased pet insurance, and our experience is consistent with the fact that this company has been rated Best Pet Insurance for three years running. I only wish our human health insurance was this good....

Complete Satisfaction

One day our puppy stopped eating/drinking and started throwing up bile. Our vet took an x-ray which revealed he had three foreign objects in his stomach and intestines. Apparently he had ingested part of a sprinkler head from our backyard (crazy, I know). After emergency surgery and a hefty bill, our puppy was healthy and happy again. I quickly and easily submitted pictures of our vet bill to Healthy Paws via the mobile app, and my claim was processed immediately (I actually received an email confirmation over the weekend, believe it or not!) I had heard of pet insurance companies "splitting hairs" and not covering parts of procedures, but that was not the case with Heathy Paws. We had opted for 90% coverage, and that's exactly what we received. A few days later our reimbursement check arrived in the mail, even before our credit card bill for his surgery. Not only that, but a Healthy Paws representative emailed to see how our puppy was doing. I have been completely satisfied with the coverage, ease of use, expediency, and responsiveness of Healthy Paws and would absolutely recommend this pet insurance provider to anyone and everyone.
