I am a customer for life!

I just had the most amazing experience with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I purchased Pet Insurance a few months and I am so glad I did. Today was the third time I took my puppy to the vet this week as he has been throwing up and not eating. His vet bills were $400 from earlier this week and today he ended up have a surgery (to remove an object he swallowed) that cost an additional $1,800.Healthy Paws has been so amazing through the whole stressful process. They have been so friendly, compassionate, and so easy to work with! I submitted my first two claims with their super easy iPhone app. When I was told he was going to have surgery I called Healthy Paws to see if there was anyway they could help upfront and they gave me a few options. My vet said they typically don't deal directly with Pet Insurance companies because they have had some bad experiences. Healthy Paws went above and beyond and called my vet, talked them, and paid for 80% of my dogs surgery (that is the plan I selected) before I even arrived to pick him up! I didn't know they did this until I showed up at the vet and my bill was $1,500 less than I expected! They made my life easier and my vet said they were the best insurance company they had ever worked with! I highly encourage everyone to go with Healthy Paws! They made a very stressful and emotional day was easier to handle!

Healthypaws Pet insurance truly a life saver

When we insured our two dogs with Helathypaws, we never thought we were actually going to need them as much as we did. Then, the unexpected happened. And unfortunately happened twice. In August of 2013, while driving home from the dog park, the rear hatch of our BMW X3 released by itself, and opened the tailgate of the car. I was driving, and while I immediately slammed on the brakes, our female german shepherd fell out at almost 50 mph. In the fall she broke her front arms, was covered in lacerations and abrasions, and broke her front teeth. We immediately rushed her to the ER, where they were thankfully able to save her and repair most of the damage. It took a total of over 2 years, and part of the recovery (dental) is still ongoing. Immediately, the bills started to pile up, to the tune of thousands and thousands of dollars. I filed my first claim with HealthyPaws, and I had a check in my hands in less than 2 weeks. That has been true ever since for every treatment of our shepherd. The unexpected hit our family again in December of 2015, when our Boerboel suddenly showed signs of lack of appetite. When we brought him to the vet, we thought that he may have had a stomach bug, because at 4 years old, he was strong and otherwise healthy. What we learned that day was that instead he had a very rare form of leukemia. And an acute form of that. Within a few hours he was needing a transfusion of blood, and 48 hours later he unfortunately passed while Drs were trying to do everything possible to save him. The devastation of loosing our sweet boy on that ER table was unbearable. Yet, the reality of the financial bills associated with his treatment, was still there. We had bills for over 6,000 dollars! We compiled the records and sent them to the insurance. A few days later, we received a very sweet email. Our claim adjuster had read the medical records and had seen Loui had passed. They sent us a condolence email, and not only did they send us a check, but they also credited our card with the prorated balance of Loui's coverage. Frankly, without their intervention, I do not know when I would have been able to actually cancel his plan. In short, in 2012, when we signed up, we never thought we'd have used them...but we thought "why not?". They have proven to be nicer than one could ever expect from an insurance company, and they have shown, time and time again, to be an outstanding service. Truly cannot recommend them enough.

Thank You Healthy Paws!

If it weren't for Healthy Paws, I don't think my best friend would be alive today. Few people would ever consider getting their animals treated for Cancer. The costs are insurmountable! I am fortunate to live in Los Angeles, where State of the Art Veterinary Medical Services are available to animal owners who can afford it. When my 90 lb. Staffordshire Terrier was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, it was essentially a death sentence and the only question was how long he would have before he died a painful death. My only option was to consider Radiation and Chemotherapy. The costs for this type of treatment ranged from $16K - $20K. I have never even spent that much money on myself for medical treatments!! If it weren't for Healthy Paws, I would have had to say Good bye to my best friend and know that I didn't even try to save him because I couldn't (wouldn't) spend the money to treat him... So far, my sweet little boy has finished four weeks of daily radiation and one session of Chemo. My bills thus far have almost reached $13,000 but thanks to Healthy Paws, I have only had to pay about $1,500 of it. I don't think I could have even considered doing this if it weren't for Healthy Paws. He's doing well but only time will tell if the radiation worked. I am confident that he will beat this thing and I would have never been able to get him this care if I had to pay for it all on my own! Cancer is an awful disease and can attack anyone or anything! I am so grateful that Healthy Paws was there for me throughout the process! I recommend this insurance to EVERYONE as it has helped me know that I've given the best care I could for my 'rescue dog' that nobody wanted... He's gotten more love and care than he could ever imagine!

I only wish I'd known about them with previous pets

Our vivacious German Shorthair is the first dog we've had insured. Prior to knowing about healthypaws our only experience of dog health insurance was high premiums, low coverage and run around. Based on others recommendations we decided to take a leap and try them out. The premiums are very affordable, the service has been exceptional and most importantly they don't delay in providing critical healthcare for your pet without any run around, hassle or pain. It's honestly better than my human insurance plan. Could not recommend them higher! Get healthypaws for peace of mind.

Healthy Paws is really there for you and your pets

I got Healthy Paws when I got my 2 dogs back in 2014. I opted for $100 annual deductible and 90% reimbursement on my claims. This year alone the reimbursement for just one dog alone will outweigh what I pay for the 2 of them in an entire year! I am so glad I have this coverage for their well being and knowing I don't have to worry about the high costs of unexpected veterinary visits. When I was looking for a pet insurer in 2014, my research led me to Healthy Paws and I found it was the best fit for me and my pets. Anytime I call them for assistance or questions on claims, they are glad to help answer any questions and go above and beyond to make sure that I am assisted until fully satisfied. They also always follow up with me to confirm that they did their job completely. I use the iPhone Healthy Paws app to simply take pictures of my invoices from the vet and submit any and all receipts for them to review to see if it is covered. Basically the only things that they have not covered, which I already know is not part of my insurance, has been things like preventative care (vaccinations and heartworm prevention.) I still submit it because i like them to have all of my vet visit receipts to keep my dogs medical records up-to-date as well as maybe they might cover me for something that I am unaware of- they actually told me this is a good idea just in case- I never know I might just get a reimbursement! The claims department notifies me via the app and email to let me know the progress of my claim from start to finish. My French Bulldog had to have unexpected eye surgery recently and Healthy Paws made sure to get me covered, get a reimbursement check on the way to me and even email me personally to check on her recovery and spread the love from their family to ours. For the little I pay per month for both dogs, knowing I have this peace of mind coverage from a top notch company really makes me an even happier pet parent than I would be if I did not have their protection. It really is the best. I would highly recommend Healthy Paws to other pet parents looking for the best pet insurance company out there.
