Horrible Experience

Healthy Paws was a complete waste of money for my dog and their customer service team is awful. I signed up last May and didn't file a claim until this year when I took my dog to the vet- the claim wouldn't have met the deductible entirely but rather than paying at all, they claimed both things she was seen for were preexisting. Their insurance would only be useful if you get a puppy or a dog with no previous veterinarian records of any kind. My vet recommended I cancel the insurance and I did. They didn't respond to 2 emails to their "help" email address- I called them and spoke with an obnoxiously superior supervisor who argued and talked over the top of me repeatedly. I do not recommend Healthy Paws insurance at all- horrible company

Wonderful company -- highly recommend!

I've only had Healthy Paws insurance for about a year, and the smaller claims have been addressed timely and always politely. I had my first major claim last week in connection with an emergency with my pup, and Healthy Paws promptly (within 2 days of the claim) analyzed the claim and stepped up to its 80% of coverage! Thank you! This allows me to take care of my babies as best as I can and then better!

Amazing Service

Our dog had to have emergency surgery to remove a foreign object from his small intestines. He was so sick, and we didn't know he had eaten anything until after we took him to the vet and they performed x-rays. It was very scary hearing the risks from the vet, and then seeing the vet's estimate of costs didn't make it any better. We obviously love our pup, so we did the surgery. I hope no one ever has to go through this type of scary procedure with their dog. But if they do, I hope they have Healthy Paws. I submitted four hospital bills and they were all processed within 24 hours. Then our dog needed follow-up care after some post-surgery complications, and Healthy Paws processed those in less than 24 hours, no questions asked. A Healthy Paws rep even reached out to us to check on the status of our pup. There is just so much comfort we now have knowing that Healthy Paws cares and that we don't need to stress over potential medical expenses. Whenever I run into any other dog owner, I recommend Healthy Paws. We couldn't be any happier and we're so appreciative for Healthy Paws helping us through this situation.

7 dogs, 7 policies!

I have researched and researched pet health insurance. I have started to run my labrador's in Hunt Tests. I have 7 of them. They run hard, and I never know what is out in the field. Everyone looks to make sure the area's are safe, but no place is absolutely dog safe. I called Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I talked to Ryan. He was so helpful. I have a unique situation because I have 4 dogs that stay close by me but at a trainers, and 3 dogs that live full time with me. Ryan explained everything to me. We must have been on the phone for at least 45minutes to an hour. Ryan went over all the different deductibles, all the different coverages, explained to me how different ages of the dogs affected the insurance. He was really wonderful. What I really liked was that Ryan actually tried to sell me a less expensive policy! What a shock that was! I was also impressed by the fact that there is no maximum to coverage do to an accident. Other insurances, that I have researched put a cap on the amount that they would cover for certain accidents. I have not made a claim yet, and hopefully I won't have to, but if Ryan is any indication of customer service, I expect the transactions will go smoothly.

Best Insurance Ever to Deal With!

I am so thankful that I have Healthy Paws insurance. When I first looked into this, there were not many other companies offering pet insurance. I discovered that the monthly cost for two dogs far outweighed the cost of the cancer treatments I paid out of pocket the year before. With our newest rescue (#3), it was a very small add to the monthly premium. You select the deductible you are comfortable with, and the reimbursement percentage. Over a year ago, our 14 year old border collie mix Sugar, had successful treatment for melanoma, all claims paid, no issues. And then late last year, removal of (and chemo for) mast cell tumors, which just recently returned. Our vet and oncologist both felt she is still a great candidate to try the next protocol. I can't NOT try this, and with Healthy Paws it is so much less of a financial burden than it would be otherwise. I always share their name with other pet parents. Easy to submit claims, reimbursement is fast, explanations are clear and the new phone app is GREAT! They have made finances something we can worry less about during a very stressful and emotional time.
