Fast...but I have some quibbles

I've used 2 other insurance companies for 2 other dogs. I thought I was pretty savvy so I was surprised to discover that exam fees are not covered (even in cases of illness, from what I can tell). Nor do exam fees or wellcare count toward your deductible. Hence, you can have a fairly significant bill and get only a few dollars back. I chose Healthy Paws over other plans thinking it would be better...The reps are lovely and the service is fast but the jury is still out. I would give a qualified recommendation to others.

Health Paws -- No Regrets, Nothing Better!

Before my wife and I got our puppy, Kai, a friend experienced a multiple day ICU stay for her dog and regretted that she had not purchased pet insurance. I was shocked to find that the stay cost almost 10,000 dollars and so one of the first things I did was research pet insurance. My priority was ensuring that if Kai ever experienced a serious accident or illness, we would feel confident that the insurer would have our back and that we'd never have to make a tough choice between the care our dog needed and our financial realities. I did my research and selected Healthy Paws because they didn't have limits when it came to lifetime coverage and also would cover multiple issues within a single calendar year. To put it bluntly, Health Paws seemed best positioned to cover the worst case scenarios that I feared the most. I now regard selecting Healthy Paws as our pet insurance one of the best life decisions I have ever made. In less than two years, Kai has endured multiple obstruction surgeries and a tough autoimmune disease. Every time Health Paws has been there -- from compassionate post operation emails to quick reimbursement turnarounds, Healthy Paws has exceeded all my expectations. Submitting a claim is as easy as taking a picture on my phone and in the rare cases they need additional information, when I called they answered on the second or third ring. My hope and expectation is that Kai will live to be 12,13,14 years old and I will never need to submit another claim. And if I pay a decade's worth of insurance premiums, and Kai is perfectly happy and healthy, I'll still consider this one of the best decisions I have ever made. The fact that I know my dog is covered, and that the company won't nickel and dime me, allows my wife and I (and Kai, I think) to sleep well at night. To purchase pet insurance or not is an important decision-- most of my friends look at me a little weird when I talk about it. But if you've just gotten your puppy I couldn't recommend Healthy Paws enough -- if you want to protect your pup for the worst case, there's no better time than right as a puppy. And if you have an older dog, you should think through your pre-existing conditions and decide if it's right for you, but I'd feel confident that if you decided you want pet insurance Healthy Paws would do what they could for your dog. My bottom line is that I cannot recommend Healthy Paws enough -- they have been there every time we needed them and when my w

Healthy Paws is the best pet care partner ever!

Anyone who complains about exam fees and pre-existing conditions not being covered really needs to pull their heads out of the sand and simply READ the policy. It is also very clear on the website what is and isn't covered. If you're surprised after the fact, that's squarely on you. Our Great Dane and Shih Tzu have been covered by Healthy Paws for nearly three years now. The coverage has always come in handy for the everyday claims that pet parents incur. Filing claims is a paperless breeze with the mobile app, and we generally receive reimbursement within a week. The only thing I wish is that they had an option for direct deposit. Healthy Paws really stepped up today as our Dane is currently on IV fluids awaiting an ultrasound at the emergency hospital. They were compassionate, didn't hesitate to help, and even worked through the details with a somewhat uncooperative vet office. Her diagnosis and prognosis are TBD, but we take great comfort in knowing Healthy Paws has our backs and that we don't have to worry about the cost in getting our girls the best care possible. Do the research and READ THE POLICY, but you simply won't find better coverage for the cost. Then rest easy knowing they are there when you need them.

The best

My year old Labrador was diagnosed with bilateral bone chips in his elbows. Healthy Paws made the process easy and care free, and were truly a joy to deal with. After receiving the check to cover the surgery I then received an email checking in on the well being of my dog. If you are looking for a Pet Insurance company Healthy Paws is the only way to go!

The Best!

My German Shepherd, Carly was diognosed with carcinoma about two months ago. She had surgery to remove a tumor from her jaw and began a series of 16 radiation treatments shortly after. Our next step will be chemotherapy. Healthy Paws has been amazing. I honestly don't know how we'd get through this process without them. I can't say enough about this company.
