Ridiculously Easy

I find it sad that my human health insurance denies every claim, argues with me endlessly and generally makes my life miserable, and my dog's insurance was the easiest thing to deal with ever. I signed up for Healthy Paws shortly after adopting my pitbull Ivy, and sent in all her medical records. About a year later she tore both her CCL's - I got the left leg done first because it was in worse shape. After the surgery all I had to do was take a picture of her invoices and send them via the healthy paws app. Within ONE WEEK there was a check in the mailbox totaling about $5,500 - 90% of the cost of the surgery. Without it there's no way I could have afforded to get it done. There was no arguing over the phone with anyone, no paperwork, no loopholes, nothing. Just a check in the mail. Totally blew my mind. I would absolutely recommend them.

Astoundingly Easy

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's insane that my dog insurance is so much better than my human insurance in every conceivable way. I signed up for Healthy Paws shortly after adopting my pitbull Ivy. I sent in all her medical records (it's important to do this so that your first claim goes smoothly). Well about a year later she tears both of her ACL's. I got the left leg done first because it was torn the most, and after the surgery all I had to do was take a picture of her invoices and send them via the healthy paws app. Literally within one week there was a check in the mailbox totaling about $5,500 - 90% of the cost of the surgery. Without it there's no way I could have afforded to get it done. without the insurance. There was no arguing over the phone with anyone, no paperwork, no loopholes, nothing. Just a check in the mail. Totally blew my mind. I would definitely recommend them, and I highly recommend you get the insurance as soon as possible, especially if you have an accident prone dog.

amazingly personal and efficient service

First of all, thank you Healthy Paws so much for your amazingly personal and efficient service. I submitted the invoice and my Vet uploaded our puppy's records on a Monday and we had our reimbursement check on that Thursday. I have posted to all my social media, so you may be getting an uptick in business. Many are skeptical about pet insurance, and even the emergency pet hospital had not heard about good pet insurance, so I'm glad I did my research and could not recommend you highly enough.

so happy for this insurance

I have had this insurance for years now, maybe 7? and they have been consistant, fair and have given excellent service. It has been a hugh financial help--wish I'd had it for the rattler bite!

Fast...but I have some quibbles

I've used 2 other insurance companies for 2 other dogs. I thought I was pretty savvy so I was surprised to discover that exam fees are not covered (even in cases of illness, from what I can tell). Nor do exam fees or wellcare count toward your deductible. Hence, you can have a fairly significant bill and get only a few dollars back. I chose Healthy Paws over other plans thinking it would be better...The reps are lovely and the service is fast but the jury is still out. I would give a qualified recommendation to others.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $90, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $100, $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
