These guys are the real deal!

My husband and I have 3 fur babies, Pekoe is our lil boy cat. He wandered into our garage and our hearts one night and we fell in love with him immediately. We were horrified to discover that he had a "lesion" inside his mouth, if you have a cat you know they aren't real willing to let you see inside their mouths, it was discovered by his vet during his yearly checkup. The vet said he must be in pain, although he didn't really have any way of letting us know. The vet determined that all but 2 canines would have to be pulled due to severe dental disease. The cost would be around $1000.00. We submitted the bill to Healthy Paws, but did not have an exam during the past 30 days, or the 15 day waiting period, Haley went through all of his vet records and was able to pay our claim after finding that he wasn't quite as old as originally thought. If she had not gone the extra mile, we would have missed having the claim paid by 4 days.........we were overjoyed at the news, and the great customer service we received from Healthy Paws! They are for real you guys, this was a totally unexpected very large bill for my family and even though we would have found the money somewhere, it was a godsend to have the claim paid instead. Thank you Healthy Paws, from Pekoe, Shiloh, Blue Sky and Mom and Dad Dozier!

Exploits Loopholes to deny coverage

My experience with Healthy Paws was NOT positive. I am proactive in my discussions with my vet about my dog's welfare and will ask questions about the smallest things. My vet keeps meticulous notes for reference. Well our discussion over what we thought at the time was an insect bite on my dog was exploited by Healthy Pets to decide that it represented a preexisting condition. This in light of the fact that is was not until much later that a decision for more extensive testing and leading to an actual diagnosis was completed. So first claim denied and any future claims for any type of tumor, even though they are usually unrelated conditions, would also be denied. So if you are proactive and have a vet who is conscientious in record keeping, then beware of Healthy Pets insurance. They will exploit the smallest detail to deny a claim.

Puppy Vision Surgery

Paisley had eyelashes growing into her eyes which required surgery to correct. Submitted bills and they paid for most of it. Total out of pocket for me was $1050 I believe, and I got a check for $718. The exam fee wasn't covered and our vet had a pricey one ($200). I was happy, zero hassle, very easy. I spent 5 seconds uploading bill and received email within 24 hours each time.

So easy during a difficult time

When our almost 9 year old greyhound Thor was diagnosed with osteosarcoma Healthy Paws was there for us! Thor needed multiple biopsies to confirm the diagnosis, followed by a very expensive amputation surgery, and we are waiting for the surgery to heal before continuing on with a specialist oncology consult and chemo. If we didn't have pet insurance that covered all this we would have been making some very difficult decisions with an eye towards the financial aspects of it. This way, we could focus solely on Thor and what is best for him rather than what our pockets can handle. So glad we got him pet insurance! It's the best thing you can do for your pet. And Healthy Paws makes it simple and easy when you are dealing with so much you don't want to have to worry about paperwork- just scan the vet bills into the app on your phone and you get a check within a few weeks. Simple!

My dog is alive because of Healthy Paws

My dog is alive today because of Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. It's easy tosay the Vet saved his life after Roscoe contracted leptospirosis, but without a way to pay for the $1,800 cost of his treatment, Roscoe would not have received his lifesaving care. Instead of having to be "put down," Roscoe is alive today and a hyper Boston Terrier because Healthy Paws does not have annual or lifetime coverage limits. They took my calls, answered all of my questions and processed claims within 1-2 days after I uploaded the invoices. I recently rescued a second Boston named Ruby. Adding her to the Healthy Paws policy was the first thing I did when we got home. I hope this review helps. If you still have any questions... CALL THEM and see what I mean.
