Healthy Paws is the best!

Healthy Paws is the best insurance out there for pets. It is affordable, and the online site is easy to use to submit and check the status of claims. When my dog needed knee surgery, they processed the claim quickly, and I received a check in the mail within 10 days. I was very impressed that a member of the Healthy Paws team reached out a few days later to ask how my dog was doing. I am very thankful to have this insurance so I never need to worry about the cost of my pet's healthcare.

Healthy Paws is Tops

Taika is the first dog of mine for whom I have insurance. I long thought about buying it, finally making up my mind to do so when I found out there was a puppy coming my way. A few years ago my sister bought pet insurance through Healthy Paws for her dogs and a friend had Healthy Paws covering her dog, but I still looked into other companies to be sure; in the end, I went with Healthy Paws for my puppy. Taika's been covered by Health Paws since Sept 2015; $500 deductible; 80% coverage. She had a couple of run-ins with porcupines. She once got poked in the eye. Healthy Paws makes it easy to upload the vet's bills and notes. Each time after doing so, I got an email from Healthy Paws, letting me know they received the paperwork. A second email followed soon thereafter detailing payment. Each time the check arrived about 1-1//2 weeks after I submitted documents. In early August I took 13-month-old Taika to the vet. She'd been vomiting on and off and wasn't much interested in food for a day or two, although she was still playful and running around. She ended up spending a week in the hospital, diagnosed with severe gastroenteritis. The bill was thousands of dollars. I uploaded pages of the vet bill and pages of the vet's notes. A day or so later, I received an email notifying the documents had been received, followed by an email detailing payment, and the check arrived about a week later. My sister had told me Healthy Paws was responsive when she'd submitted claims; reviews I read likewise noted the company responded quickly to claims. Based on my experience, the company certainly is responsive! I've gotten "we-hope-Taika-is-feeling-better" email from Healthy Paws--a kind and thoughtful touch. (When was the last time your insurance company sent you a nice note?!) Health Paws has certainly set a high bar in terms of pet insurance--they respond quickly and their customer service is excellent. I'm very pleased with Healthy Paws and highly recommend the company. From now on, my dogs will be covered through Healthy Paws.

Best Insurance Company Ever

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is by far the best insurance company I have had the pleasure of working with. First and foremost, they are much less expensive on a monthly basis than the competitors. But it is the no hassle customer service that is amazing. Within 3 days of filing the claim, the reimbursement checks were at my house. Most important however, they cared enough to follow up and ask about how my dog did post procedure and if everything was alright. I refer all my friends, family and clients who are pet owners to Healthy Paws.

Wish my own health insurance were so efficient!

First, in our wildest dreams, could not have imagined how expensive our vet bills would our first 1+ year of dog ownership. Pet health insurance is one of the best financial decisions we have ever made.I can not compare Healthy Paws to other pet insurers because this is our first time using such a service, but I have to say that our past and present human insurance providers could learn a lot from this company! Here is my experience: When I signed up I chose a $250 deductible and 20% co-pay. It turns out the higher premiums associated with a lower deductible and co-pay would have already paid for themselves, but I had no idea our 2-year-old dog would need multiple surgeries in rapid succession! In any case, we've been grateful for the coverage we do have. Our husky has had three surgeries related to the human equivalent of torn ACLs. I have the Healthy Paws app on my phone. Finding a claim is ridiculously simple. Before I even leave the vet's office, I open the app, select "submit a claim," take a photo (in-app) of the itemized bill, and hit "submit." By email, I've gotten basically four types of communication in response. 1. Claim submission confirmation. (Immediately?) 2. Notice that claim is being processed (within a day or two). 3. Notice that claim has been approved and (if applicable) that a reimbursement check is being mailed. (Within a few days, although I think the first one took longer, probably while they determined if the condition was pre-existing, since we had so recently purchased the insurance). 4. A kind, personalized follow-up inquiry about our dog's recovery. That's it. It's been unbelievable to me! We have a large family and are big-time health insurance users and it is not uncommon for us to get EOBs and bills for services six months or more after a service date. And we often have to spend hours on the phone with the providers and our insurance company trying to sort out who pays what. I don't know if there are cheaper or better pet insurers out there, but I'm not even interested in finding out. We are so grateful to Healthy Paws for their efficient, professional, and compassionate service model that we look forward to a long relationship with them.
