Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I recently had to file my first claim for my cat who had a freak accident and fractured her leg from a fall the week before Thanksgiving and required orthopedic surgery. After submitting my claim, HealthyPaws was prompt in letting me know what medical records they needed and were very helpful when I followed up that they received everything to begin processing my claim. Once I was assured that they had all the information they needed (all documents received by Tuesday of Thanksgiving week), my claim was processed and completed by the end of Friday the same week (remember this is during the holidays??). There was no dancing around or trying to delay the process. My reimbursement check arrived the following Monday (80%, -$250 deductible). This was not a pre-existing injury/illness so there were no conflicts. Everything went much faster than I had anticipated especially during the holidays and everyone I contacted within HealthyPaws was friendly and very helpful.

My rescue Gunner is a frequent flyer at the vet (allergies, ears, and let's not forget those foreign objects that he seems to eat). His recent episode resulted in emergency surgery!!! Got him home and settled, snapped a pic of the receipt and VIOLA -- claim approved. My experience with Healthy Paws has been fabulous (and I am a stickler about customer service ESPECIALLY for my lil babekins). I've only had to call customer service once and resolved an outstanding issue involving copies of vet records and again....claim approved.

My dog Blaze needed abdominal surgery just before Thanksgiving this year. It was expensive but thanks to Healthy Paws Insurance I was able to get 90% of the bill paid. He would not be alive today without Healthy Paws. I highly recommend it for piece of mind. Blaze is doing great now. He is strong and recovering fast. I sincerely am grateful for Healthy Paws generous insurance. We would not be able to afford to keep him without your help!

Our experience with Healthy Paws has been exceptional from the beginning. The rates are great especially with having three pets to cover. Our puppy was recently hit by a car and fractured her pelvis and required a trip to the ER and then surgery. I submitted the claims using the app and within ten days we were reimbursed( received checks) for both claims . I recently received a follow up email asking how my puppy was doing and wishing her a speedy recovery. I truly appreciate how easy the whole claims process was and the amazing customer care given. I would recommend Healthy Paws to anyone with pets!

My husband and I got Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for our dog, Billie, when she was young and healthy. We wondered if it would just be a waste of money, and fretted a bit about another monthly payment, but decided that we never wanted to be in a position where money had to factor into a decision regarding Billie's health care. We are so grateful we made this decision. Just last month Billie had to have surgery to correct a congenital issue. The surgery was recommended to ease her comfort and ensure that the recurring infection she was having didn't become antibiotic resistant (we had already gone through 3 rounds of high powered antibiotics to clear it). It was estimated to cost between $2,800-3,800. The full amount would have really affected our finances. And given it was not for a life-threatening situation, it would have been a much more difficult decision to make without insurance. However, since we had the security of our Healthy Paws Insurance, and knew that we'd only pay 20% out-of-pocket, it was an easy decision to make. Billie's surgery went well and she is now all healed up and doing great. We will continue paying our monthly fee gladly. At this point, we have received more money back from Healthy Paws than we have paid in monthly payments. And this is for an otherwise completely healthy dog! I use the Healthy Paws phone app to track my account and claims. Turning in receipts is as easy as taking a photo on my phone and hitting send. Sometimes our vet sends them from the office for us. The reimbursement checks are mailed promptly. And after Billie's surgery, we received a personal email asking how she was doing and wishing us all well. I thought that was a nice touch. I strongly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for peace of mind and lifelong care of our furry family members!
