2 Torn ACLs and $9000 Later
My 7 year old beagle Riley tore the ACL in both knees on the same day. Not knowing what had happened I rushed him to the emergency room where they took x-rays and found nothing. Next stop at the vet who then referred my to an orthopedic specialist who diagnosed the ALC tears. Surgery was scheduled for the next day. I uploaded the receipt and medical records from the emergency room on a Sunday and I had confirmation of of processing on Monday and my reimbursement check by Friday. I chose to get the 90/10 plan. And after this accident I'm sure glad I did. After all was said and done, the cost was over $9000 and all I had to pay was the 3 different doctor visits which totaled $357 and my 10% of treatment, tests and medications. If I didn't have insurance, I don';t know how I would have been able to pay for this surgery and treatment.
I've had to use my insurance 3 times in the 5 years I've had Riley. And every time they have been quick to reimburse and they follow up to see how your pet is doing/recovering.
