Healthy Paws Rocks

Just had a wonderful experience with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Our 4 year old Boxer mix was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor. Although she has been insured since we adopted her a year and a half ago we have never had cause to use it. Healthy Paws quickly processed our first claim - for the vet exam and lab work. We have a $250 deductible with 90% coverage - the deductible was quickly eaten up by our first claim - Ava had her surgery to remove the tumor and have to graded at a lab. I submitted the claim for the surgery - $1397 and within about 5 days it was approved and we received a check for $1230. Luckily our Vet thinks Ava has a good chance of being cancer free after her surgery. Healthy Paws sent me a follow up email asking how Ava was feeling. It is so nice to have this coverage and know that if we had to treat her for cancer they were there to help us cover the costs. Our previous dog, who was not insured had cancer and his treatment cost us well over $7000 out of pocket over the two year fight to prolong his life. Yay Healthy Paws. Yay Ava the boxer mix. Take that cancer!!

Excellent service, easy to use app & kind staff

We had just enrolled our 2yr old mini American Eskimo, Thor, in healthypaws a few months earlier and then he got horribly ill. He got a severe GI infection and had to stay in the hospital for weeks. I was worried that it may not be covered but all we had to do was send Thor's full health record with the claim and we had no issues! It was very scary for a couple weeks and he lost over 10% of his body weight; we were unsure which way it would go. I can say it was a relief to have insurance otherwise we wouldn't have been able to afford the badly needed IV fluids, medications and lab tests. I can say with a fair degree of certainty that having healthy paws on our side is what enabled Thor to survive his illness and come back home to us. We can't thank them enough for being so supportive throughout the whole process; our questions, our calls, the claims process, all of it was kind and efficient. Thank you thank you thank you! I have seen other reviews from people with issues doing their first claim, as a result of that I made sure to send Thor's full health record when we first signed up and I sent it again with the first claim I made. I had zero issues and the reimbursement was quick.

Healthy Paws to the rescue

Healthy Paws was a life saver for me last weekend. my puppy got into a Christmas wreath and unfortunately ate some of the plastic. Hours later was sick and vomiting blood. Rushing him to emergency vet in middle of the night and unsure of his prognosis was horrible. Paying thousands upfront wasn't even a worry because I knew Healthy Paws would cover the vast majority of the money. When I submitted my claim, I had lovely emails asking after Welly's health and helping with the claim. It was processed quickly and the check was in the mail the next day! Helped take the stress out of a very stressful situation.

Friendly, Easy Claim Process, Fast Reimbursements

I did alot of research on pet insurance companies before purchasing Healthy Paws when we adopted our St. Bernard in 2012. Purchasing insurance through Healthy Paws was one of the best decisions we made. Within a year, our dog swallowed a tennis ball, whole, and needed surgery to remove it. Once I submitted the claims, I would get an email response soon after and received reimbursements within a week or two. Last year, our dog needed another surgery, and, again, their claim process was easy and fast. I rarely had to speak with an agent, but when I did they were pleasant and compassionate. With all the insurance companies out there, I'm very happy I went with Healthy Paws.
