Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I rescued my American Bulldog 3 years ago and he has been a labor of love who seems to be injury prone and susceptible to illness. Two TPLO surgeries, cataract surgery and a couple of very serious bacterial infections which required multiple night hospital stays in 3 years has been stressful, but Healthy Paws has been so supportive and removed the financial stress from treatments which allowed me to focus on healing my boy!

My Australian Shepherd Chloe has been covered by Healthy Paws for years. She's had other minor health issues in the past that I had to take out multiple credit cards to cover without having pet insurance. We recently discovered that she has a rare heart condition and a pacemaker implantation would save her life. I wouldn't have been able to afford this major surgery without Healthy Paws. Submitting claims are extremely easy, they don't question every detail of the bill and will thoroughly look over it for you to see which parts are covered aka %80. I got my check within 2 weeks and can sleep at night not having to worry about my finances while I take care of my recovering pup.

Once you get through the process of sending your pet's full medical history the company is great! My 6 year old dog just had to have TPLO surgery on her leg and I submitted the claim on a Friday and Saturday morning I received an email that it was approved. The check came the following week. Their claims department was so helpful, especially Sara H, and they even followed up to see how she was doing! That's more than my vet did! While insurance is one of those bets you hope you never need to use, it’s reassuring to know that it’s there when you need it. Our otherwise-healthy Scottish terrier became very sick one night and required emergency surgery and several days in the hospital to recover.
