Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I did alot of research on pet insurance companies before purchasing Healthy Paws when we adopted our St. Bernard in 2012. Purchasing insurance through Healthy Paws was one of the best decisions we made. Within a year, our dog swallowed a tennis ball, whole, and needed surgery to remove it. Once I submitted the claims, I would get an email response soon after and received reimbursements within a week or two. Last year, our dog needed another surgery, and, again, their claim process was easy and fast. I rarely had to speak with an agent, but when I did they were pleasant and compassionate. With all the insurance companies out there, I'm very happy I went with Healthy Paws.

Our always heathy two-year-old Bolognese suddenly stopped eating, was totally listless and kept vomiting. It was a serious case of gastritis. He was hospitalized a total of four nights. It was crazy expensive. The hospital gave us what we needed to file a claim with Heathy Paws. It took a few minutes online. Heathy Paws immediately assigned a case number, and within a few weeks, we received a check. It was that simple. It was a relief to know that while we were agonizing over our beloved puppy's health, we did not have to additionally agonize over the hospital charges. We have two dogs, both are covered by Heathty Paws...thank goodness.

This is the best insurance company I have ever worked with. Hands down, better than my homeowners, auto, or human health coverage! I have paid tens of thousands in medical bills over the years for my many pets but never purchased pet insurance. I finally decided to make the commitment for my newly adopted, rambunctious 3 year old border collie, Smokey. About 6 months after I got the insurance, Smokey got loose and got hit by a car. This company was amazing. The vet hospital and neurologist's bills were huge. It was really easy to submit the claim for each invoice online and much to my relief, reimbursement checks were always sent by Healthy Paws in just 1 to 2 weeks, no questions asked. The reimbursements covered initial vet bills, hospitalization and months of ongoing hydro-therapy and physical therapy,I thought for sure my premium would shoot up after that, but the monthly premium has only increased a few dollars with each annual renewal. Smokey is 6 years old now and just needed to have a tumor removed from his eyelid. Again, prompt payment from the insurer. I'm comforted to know that as he ages, this insurance is in place and I will be financially able to give him the care he deserves. I wouldn't dream of having my child go without health insurance, and going forward, none of my pets will either. The peace of mind is immeasurable. The last thing you want to worry about when you are concerned for the health of your pet is the medical costs. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is reasonable, provides excellent customer service, and worth every penny.

My dog chase just turned 5 years old and approx 2 weeks later to my dismay my dog was not feeling well. He was initially diagnosed with diabetes and the next day pancreatitis and ketoacidosis. Chase had to go to a hospital 2 1/2 hrs away to get him the proper treatment. He was in ICU where he had 24hr care. He was able to come home after 4 days (Christmas Eve). I am ever so grateful for having healthy paws insurance for him. It took me quite some time to find an insurance company that I thought would be good if I ever needed it. i just never imagined anything like this would happen. The next day while my dog was back at the vet I put in a claim for his diagnosis of diabetes, but who knew he would be in ICU this same day. After what was going on with my dog and the holidays and awaiting paperwork from ER hospital I put in yet more claims which was probably over $5000. After getting all my paperwork from vets and hospitals my claim was processed quicker than I thought. Healthy paws I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me keep my dog in better health. If it weren't for this great insurance I know for a fact my dog would not have had a chance to continue life.
