Horrible insurance company

Had them for last 3 year and they never want proccess claims. They try to find a way to not pay In 3 yrs paying $75 per month they only paid $48 for one claims. What’s the point on getting insurance if YOU are looking for ways NOT pay - Shame on this company I cancelled and went to anther provider

We’re sorry you were not satisfied with your plan. We do our best to be transparent throughout our website, during the enrollment process and in the plan documents available to each client in their online Healthy Paws account regarding the limited exclusions of our plan. Those exclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation). Anyone visiting our website can see this information on our “Benefits, Coverage and Exclusions” page. Since the majority of your claims fell into one of the above categories, we could not provide coverage.

Kona's Hemangiosarcoma CANCER

We have had Healthy Paws insurance since my German Shephard family member was less than a year old. She was healthy until a month ago. As a result of an emergency ultrasound, we found a tumor on her spleen that ruptured. Because we have Healthy Paws Insurance we were able to make a quick decision on giving her an emergency surgery. Without the surgery, we will not know whether the tumor is cancerous or not, which it unfortunately it was. Even though Kona's outcome is not what we hoped for, it allowed her few precious weeks with her, and were well worth it! For 11 years, Healthy Paws promptly paid all of her prescriptions and emergency visits less our annual deductible at 90%. The claim process is/was very easy and fast and we received updates along the way. I highly recommended them to all pet parents! Their policies and customer service people are the best!

Misleading deductibles

When you start running the numbers, you will realize that you were paying far m ore than 20% deductible. Great example ER visit 437. They do not cover the ER charge which was 195. Which means my actual deductible was almost 50%, not 20%. They do not cover vet fees or ER fees. This is a workaround to not actually tell you exactly what they charge as a deductible. It's a dishonest practice. And I would stay as far away from healthy paws as I could. Unfortunately I've had them for 4 years and my dog is seven. So going somewhere else is going to be costly but I truly dislike deceptive trade practice.

I’ve had Healthy Paws insurance 10…

I’ve had Healthy Paws insurance 10 years for my dogs. It has been extremely “user friendly” for filing claims (takes me just a couple minutes online), has never given me a claim judgment that was not fair, and has seamlessly covered even very expensive conditions such as autoimmune disease, chronic gastrointestinal problems, eye issues, injuries, and complex surgeries including multiple mass removals and biopsies, correction of a spinal ("corkscrew" tail joint) malformation, severe malocclusion improvement (Boston Terrier, need I say more?), and more. I've had other insurances in the past that presented constant frustration regarding claims, but Healthy Paws has made my dogs' health care so much easier and less expensive. As a senior, I daily appreciate that I can adopt dogs and not worry about future costly health issues affecting their care. Also, kudos to HP for promoting pet rescue and really meaning it!

Great Company. Love the website!

Filing a claim is simple and the web site is very "user friendly" with clear and easy-to-understand information. They processed the claim for our dog's knee surgery promptly and reimbursement followed soon after. They even followed up with an email to see how she was doing after her surgery!
