Couldn't be happier
My pup had a torn cruciate ligament repair. Healthy Paws process my claims more quickly than the other well known pet insurance company through which I previously had coverage. And, there is one deductible per year, not one for each incident. Their prices are competitive. I highly recommend Healthy Paws.

Healthy Paws Insurance Review
I just want everyone to know how amazing Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is. My family was devastated when we found out that our young Rottweiler needed major spinal surgery. We struggled with the idea of putting him down because we were going to be unable to afford it. We luckily already had Healthy Paws but we had no idea how much they would help us with the coverage of the surgery. Our dog is 2 weeks out of surgery and better than we could've imagined because of the help from Healthy Paws! If you are thinking about getting Pet insurance there is no company better than Healthy Paws!

There when you really need it.
We recently rescued Nacho and shortly after he developed a cataract that would blind him. He is only 2 years old. When I called to see if surgery would be covered, I spoke to a wonderful woman who was polite and kind. When I submitted the claim I had a check in a week. And a week later they wrote me to see how Nacho was doing. Why do you care? Because if your shopping for Pet Insurance and you need to use it They are there. Our last dog had bone cancer at 4 years old. She was a rescue as well. Our last pet insurance carrier was marginal at best. It took forever to reach them. The claims took 1-2 months to settle. Healthy Paws took the financial worry out of this whole equation! They are amazing and I would and have recommended them to others. Thank you Healthy Paws for being reliable, kind and thoughtful!

Thank God for Healthy Paws
My partner and I had friends tell us to get health insurance for our pup, and laughed it off -- after all, he was barely 4 months, what could go wrong? 2 days after our waiting period ended, we discovered that Gunther (french bulldog puppy) was dragging his paws, indicating neurological dysfunction. After a $2,000 MRI, we realized the only option was a $6,000 surgery to save him from a cyst that had developed on his spine.
This $8,000 doesn't include the probably $1,500 worth of in-between appointments and $500 worth of therapeutic toys and medication we ended up cashing in on during the entire process. I can honestly say we probably couldn't have provided him with this option without HealthyPaws-- my partner and I were financially ready for a puppy, but not for this. They are quick to reply to claims, the customer service staff is empathetic and patient, and the app is user-friendly and easy.
I highly recommend the app to anyone that asks me in my personal life. They timely checked in on us post-surgery to see how he was doing, and continue to impress me through my short 2 months in working with them. I have friends that have experienced awful pet health insurance, and I can confidently say that I have fully appreciated my time working with HealthyPaws.
Monthly Cost
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
