Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Less than a week after submitting our claims, we were reimbursed by Healthy Paws, less our copay and deductible, for veterinary care costs totaling almost $12,000. The piece of mind we have had, knowing that we could get our beloved five year old dog, Maggie, treatment without worrying as much about how burdensome the expense was going to be, is immense. This is the first pet we've purchased insurance for and I am now an unqualified believer in its value. Our dear Maggie is recovering from surgery for a pancreatic abscess. It was touch and go and she spent five days in the hospital. I was concerned that going forward we would lose our coverage because of the big claim but Healthy Paws has assured me that future care pertaining to this health condition is covered. I had selected Healthy Paws originally (about two ago and after one of my other dogs had some uncovered, very expensive bills related to a rattlesnake bite) because of positive reviews I read. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance covered a marginal surgical procedure for my golden retriever for $800. It was an issue that would have gone away on its own in time and they didn't have to cover, and they still covered it at 90% and not only did that, they CHECKED IN after the surgery to see how she was.
