No Hassle, prompt payment excellent customer servi
I usually don't bother with giving ratings/reviews but Healthy Paws deserves a 10 star rating. We have a policy that has a $100 yearly deductible with 90% coverage. Our 5 yr old Bernese Mountain dog, Cadette, was diagnosed with bone cancer on April 11th 2017. We took her to an emergency vet hospital with an Oncologist on April 18th 2017, they recommended that Cadette have her hind leg amputated, so they kept Cadette overnight and performed the surgery on April 19th and kept her until April 21st 2017. I submitted the receipts, thru the Healthy Paws app, on April 25th and received the reimbursement check for 90% of the vet bill on May 1st 2017. The app makes submitting vet bills so easy, all you do is open the app, click on new claim and take a pic of the vet bill and submit it. I can't see how any other pet insurance companies can match Healthy Paws.

Healthy Paws Insurance is AMAZING!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is AWESOME!!! I have never had pet insurance before, and thankfully I signed my Border Collie "Rayna" up as a puppy. I chose the $250 deductible and 90% claim payment. Rayna tore her cruciate at 10 months old and had TPLO surgery on 12/30/16. Sadly, Rayna was one of the very few dogs where TPLO just did not work, and last week the surgeon took out the plate, scoped her joint, and did the traditional repair. Healthy Paws has *promptly* paid every claim. The claim process is SO easy, you take a picture of your vet bill, then from the Healthy Paws app on my phone I hit "new claim", "attach picture" and "submit claim." A week or two later a check arrives in my mailbox, no questions asked. Whenever I have had to call with questions, I have received caring answers to my questions. I'm not one to post reviews (and I'm going to post this on another site as well), but if you are looking for Pet Insurance, I heartily recommend Healthy Paws! Gerianne in Iowa

Soo glad we went with Healthy Paws
I usually don't write a review but with Healthy Paws outstanding service I felt obliged to write something up, especially for those on the fence about getting pet insurance.
A couple weeks ago our little guy was not eating and puking. We took him in and found out he needed immediate surgery. Without skipping a beat we went forth and they were able to correct a twisted intestine. I sent in the invoice via the app and a couple days later I received a check in the mail. Instead of paying thousands of dollars we paid a relatively low deductible.
Because of Healthy Paws we did not have to stress out about taking our pup in for emergency surgery due to the cost. We will be clients for life!

Best Decision of my life!
I love Healthy Paws! My Golden Retriever puppy, Hudson, is almost 8 months old and has gone through it all in the past couple weeks. Before I got my puppy, I was thinking I would get it when he was closer to 4 years old since Golden's have a lot of issues as they get older and the Golden I got was VERY well bred so I figured since he had good genes/DNA, that I wouldn't have many issues with him... but boy am I glad that I got Healthy Paws when he was a puppy. If I had waited, then I would have a lot less money in my bank account right now, because you never know what is going to happen with your pup.
The first two claims I submitted to Healthy Paws I had back within 2-12 hours. With the last one two, it took a couple days (they were much larger than my first two). For the last one, it was a LARGE bill ($6,000+ for an emergency surgery, which was inconclusive so an extended hospital stay with MANY, MANY tests done), so I gave them a call after 48 hours to see when they were going to get to it. They told me that if I ever have another large claim, to call them immediately after submitting it and they can push it to the top of the pile for review so I get it back sooner. I thought that was great to hear. While I was on the phone, they made sure to ask how my Hudson was doing and I even got a follow up email a few days later checking on him. So not only do they provide a great service, but they care. So far, they've covered everything I would have expected them to. I'm VERY happy I went with Healthy Paws and not one of the competitors!
Healthy Paws took the financial concern away from the decisions to do what was right for my pup (not like I would have chosen otherwise anyways, but still… you get my point)! My ultimate vet bill for my vet and the hospital was over $6,600 and I’m coming out paying less than $1,750! That means that my pet insurance just paid for itself for the next 6 years. Totally worth it in my book.
When deciding on Healthy Paws, I was unsure since they didn't cover the exam and the preventive care, but because of that, you're paying less per month than you would have with another company and they're GREAT about covering everything else.
I think my main takeaways are: 1. get pet insurance and 2. get it ASAP, don't wait because you assume that your well bred dog isn't going to have any issues until he's older.

They're The Best!
Hobbes's TPLO surgery went well and he is progressing nicely. He is a healthy, active sweetheart of a pup who is missing chasing the birds and squirrels out of his fenced kingdom (backyard) 😊, but he is being a good boy and a real trooper with the cone and confinement.
I can't thank the whole Healthy Paws team enough for answering all my questions...thank you, Amanda! Everyone was so helpful and I felt like they truly cared about my dog and what we were going through. Especially thanks for covering the surgery expenses! Quite frankly, it would have been a financial hardship for me to come up with the money to pay for his surgery. I'm not sure he would have had the surgery otherwise if Healthy Paws didn't cover his expenses. The Healthy Paws app made it super easy to file the claim and it was processed and reimbursed very quickly. My overall rating for Healthy Paws Insurance... 10+!
