Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

On August 1, 2017 my Bichon Frise, Cisco, darted out into the street in front of our house and was hit by a car. Four weeks earlier a friend and fellow dog owner had talked to me about the wisdom of getting pet insurance. Her rationale was “Nowdays, there is so much veterinary medical know-how to deal with accidents and illnesses for our pets – but it is expensive; probably more than most of our budgets allow.” This made sense to me and the next day I put in a couple of hours researching online, and decided to go with my friend’s company, Healthy Paws. Boy, am I glad I did! If I had put this decision off for another month I would have had to put my healthy, happy 4 year old puppy down…for financial reasons! He needed 2 surgeries: one to repair his torn diaphragm and put his internal organs back in the right place, and one to implant a plate to repair a fractured pelvis. Today, not quite 3 weeks after the accident he is mending nicely! Healthy Paws reimbursed me 80% of my $10,000 vet bill (minus my annual deductible and the initial “office visit”), and they paid it within 7 days! As I wrote to Healthy Paws that first week, “It is a little embarrassing to be so early in my relationship with you, (I had only paid 1 premium!) and to be having to file a claim so soon. But I am so thankful for having the insurance and I am recommending Healthy Paws to everyone I know who owns a dog!” So don’t delay. Buy your pet insurance today!

This is the best pet insurance I have had. I chose a $200 deductible and 90% coverage. It is fantastic that there are no limits on medical conditions which was the problem I had with other pet insurance companies. It has been a life saver. One of my dogs battled kidney disease for a couple of years. I never had to worry about whether I could afford to go to the vet and the cost of all the testing. It gave me peace of mind knowing that I was able to give him all the care he needed and never have to worry about the cost. I took this insurance out after my dog needed surgery on his back. It cost me $6000. I wish I would of had this insurance then. The staff at Healthy Paws are all so friendly and caring. Claims are hassle free and handled quickly. After my dog passed I received a beautiful card from Healthy Paws which was hand signed by all the staff. There are amazing. I wish humans could have health insurance like this. I would absolutely recommend this insurance to anyone so that they don't have to make hard decisions when it comes to their pet's health care.

Following a super traumatic (and expensive) incident with our dog, Penelope, Healthy Paws came to our rescue! With an incredibly easy submission process for our invoice via the app, and a quick email to say that our claim had been received and was in process, we couldn't have asked much more. Not only was our claim approved within a couple of weeks, the team sent us a personal follow-up email to see how Penelope was doing, that they were very sorry to hear that she wasn't feeling well and sent wishes for a quick recovery! I think we all appreciate the small things in times of distress. This certainly made me feel like this company truly cares about the welfare of its clients. Healthy Paws! You all need to know the sense of both relief and confidence you have infused into our decision to have our Choc Lab Duke, protected by Healthy Paws. He started favoring his right leg at about 6 months old after exercise or play times. Unfortunately like other large breeds, it was confirmed Elbow Dysplasia after x-rays and then seeing a Specialist. We thought we were going to be "poop" out of luck staring at another enormous bill... as it was over $3500, but we got most of that back from Healthy Paws! See, we had been down this familiar road before with our previous forever dog... But your company restored our faith in how it should work. The claims approval we just received is just one example, not just because Duke was covered, but the expediency, sincere caring, and genuine efforts. You took care of business; yes, and with that, you take care of us and our lil' cool dude, Duke. And we talk from experience, due to how a Very Silly Pet insurance company did NOT have our backs not long ago for a different forever lab who had similar medical issues, and that company didn't possess any of your attributes, let alone coverage or an attitude of care. In fact, we got zilch, squat, nada. Just premiums to pay with them. Thankfully we did our diligence this time around from this very Pet Insurance review website and bought Duke's Healthy Paws policy as soon as we got him - guess it pays to commit early. Realizing that sincere care of pet & your customers starts at the top of your organization but it gets reinforced from the rest of the team (Melissa, Haley and others in customer service/claims, bean counting, sales, marketing, education, custodians, receptionists... who may never get attention...) and it completes the circle and galvanizes. Hmm... like a good pack? :) My wife and I humbly thank you for your spirit of pet care and Duke especially thanks you as he's on the road to recovery with his fashionable leg wraps and cone collar! My dog had an operation to repair a perineal hernia, the cost was $3000.00,and in less than 10 day I had a 90% reimbursment. Thanks a lot !!!!
