We recommend pet insurance to everyone.

When my husband and I decided to get pet insurance for our then puppy Stanley back in October 2014 we had no idea how grateful we would be to Healthy Paws today. We knew when we got it we would only need to use it in case of an emergency or for the occasional time he got sick. In February 2017 our "emergency" happened. Stanley had to go in for TPLO (ACL) surgery. He was only three years old and my husband and I were devastated that he had hurt himself playing. Having Healthy Paws made a stressful situation less stressful. I did not have to worry about a large surgery, rehabilitation, and perscription bill because we had opted into a plan that would cover 90% of the costs. By the end of his recovery in April we estimated that we spent only around $700, if we did not have pet insurance it would have been closer to $5500. THEN emergency number two happened. Stanley tore his OTHER ACL in July 2017. Only 5 months after his first surgery. One of the best things around healthy paws is that they did not consider his first tear as a "pre-exisiting" condition like other pet insurance companies do. We feel so fortunate that yet again we have healthy paws as a pet insurance company. Other reasons we like Healthy Paws includes there easy to use app to process claims and their friendly staff who always reach out to check on Stanley's recovery. :)

Impressed!

I have never had pet insurance before and I looked up a comparison chart of companies, read information and chose Healthy Paws. So far I am pleased! My dog Winnie was hospitalized, I kind of "forgot" I had pet insurance but when I remembered, I was so relieved. I could have her get the treatment needed without worrying. I was very impressed that I received unexpectedly, an email from their client services checking to see how Winnie was after her incident. They put a personal touch that means a lot to us as pet parents. There was an an easy to use app you can submit claims, as well as other easy online options or via mail. It was no hassle and very prompt processing of the claims. They don't pay exams but I was reading the reason why, which is giving the pet parents some responsibility it makes it easier for the bigger claims to be paid. I also chose them for the fact that if a pet injures a knee ligament and has to have surgery, they cover it if it happens to the second, where other pet insurances do not. I noticed on my app they have a pet foundation that helps other less fortunate pets and I really like that in a company. The app has a lot of easy to read clear and concise information. Lastly, They have a referral program and one of my friends saved money by me referring her with a link, compared to what she found online. I highly recommend this company. So far, and I have only used them once, I am impressed! I was a little leary about it, but it has been well worth the investment! Thank You Healthy Paws!

JUST DO IT. THEY'RE AMAZING!

JUST DO IT. THEY'RE AMAZING! Sadly, our dog got a nasty lung cancer tumor. We did surgery and started chemotherapy but unfortunately the tumor had spread and we had to say goodbye to him. Throughout his illness, we submitted probably a dozen bills totalling over $12000 (yes, twelve thousand). Healthy Paws paid every single bill, no questions or pushback. All the claims were approved SAME DAY. The checks came in less than a week. They emailed us support and condolences. I honestly can't see how it could have been better (unless free). I will never have a dog without having Healthy Paws, period.

Healthy paws review

I was hestitent about getting pet insurance when I got my puppy because everyone said it wasn't worth it but I went with my gut and got healthy paws. Unfortunately my puppy got into some Advil and had to spend a few nights at the hospital. This was a very stressful and scary time for me and I didn't even think about the cost because I just wanted him to be okay. After he was released I submitted the claim to healthy paws and they worked through it without any issues! I can't even express how seamless this process was and how much easier it made this whole ordeal. I have recommend healthy paws to every pet owner I know! It is the best investment you can make for any new pet joining your family!

Relieved that I had Healthy Paws insurance!

I have heard stories from other pet owners about the worthlessness of having pet insurance. My friends would ask why I didn't just put that $40-50/month into a savings account accessible immediately if I needed it. If I'd taken that approach I know that I never would have continued to save due to more urgent financial concerns. So when my 11-year old, 20 lb. terrier mix had a cranial cruciate ligament tear I was relieved that I'd kept up my coverage with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Between our regular vet's bill for diagnosis and the surgeon's bill for treatment the total was almost $4000. After my $500 deductible was met Healthy Paws covered 90% of the remaining amount. Since this was the first claim I had ever made I had to have all of her records sent in. I was worried that my claim would be challenged because I'd recently changed vets and my dog had a different operation on the same leg 8 years ago. But once they received all of her medical records Healthy Paws posted the amount of my reimbursement on my account page and had a check in the mail. Having recently retired I appreciated knowing that a large part of the bill was covered!
