Wonderful Insurance

When I adopted my rescue dog Stella, I immediately got my pet insurance through Healthy Paws. Within a month I had to submit a claim for emergency surgery. Stella is now home safe and I feel more at peace knowing Healthy Paws is on my side.

We love Healthy Paws! Top notch customer service.

We are so very happy with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Our precious French Bull Dog suddenly developed a back problem that required an MRI and surgery for a left sided hemilaminectomy. He had developed a disc herniation causing spinal cord compression - also known as intervertebral disc disease. He received the best medical care at Cummings Veterinary Medical Center at Tufts University. When I received the bills for his treatments, I simply used the Healthy Paws app on my phone, took a photo of the bills, and uploaded them. Within 10 days, Healthy Paws reviewed the bills and provided us the reimbursement appropriate to our plan. These bills exceeded $5,000. We also received emails from Healthy Paws asking how Oakley was doing throughout his recovery. I encourage anyone that is looking for Pet Insurance to go through Healthy Paws. They are awesome!

Personalized attention for every client

I have two rescues. Scrappy we adopted in 2013, he was 1 and a half, and Baloo we adopted in 2014 and was between 2-5yrs old. Scrappy ended up testing heartworm positive in December 2013, despite having a clean bill of health from the rescue and being on heartworm prevention since we adopted him. Baloo is not an extremely sporty dog, but my Scrappy chases him around for 8hrs a day to make sure he gets tons of exercise. We recently noticed him limping, after x-rays and an exam that he needed to be sedated to have done, he was diagnosed with a torn CCL. Thanks to healthy paws, both my boys were able to receive the treatment they required, including multiple night hospital stays and made a full recovery. I would never have been able to afford at least $2000 for Scrappy and $4000 for Baloo's medical expenses. I called the company multiple times to make sure they received medical records and ask questions about reimbursement. Every person l spoke to was knowledgeable and friendly. They followed up with my vet and even emailed to see how my boys were feeling. The reimbursement of 90% is one thing but the personal attention is priceless. It feels like you are dealing with another human being rather than an insurance company that only cares for themselves. I will never be able to fully express the gratitude I have towards this company for their services.

Car Accident

On August 1, 2017 my Bichon Frise, Cisco, darted out into the street in front of our house and was hit by a car. Four weeks earlier a friend and fellow dog owner had talked to me about the wisdom of getting pet insurance. Her rationale was “Nowdays, there is so much veterinary medical know-how to deal with accidents and illnesses for our pets – but it is expensive; probably more than most of our budgets allow.” This made sense to me and the next day I put in a couple of hours researching online, and decided to go with my friend’s company, Healthy Paws. Boy, am I glad I did! If I had put this decision off for another month I would have had to put my healthy, happy 4 year old puppy down…for financial reasons! He needed 2 surgeries: one to repair his torn diaphragm and put his internal organs back in the right place, and one to implant a plate to repair a fractured pelvis. Today, not quite 3 weeks after the accident he is mending nicely! Healthy Paws reimbursed me 80% of my $10,000 vet bill (minus my annual deductible and the initial “office visit”), and they paid it within 7 days! As I wrote to Healthy Paws that first week, “It is a little embarrassing to be so early in my relationship with you, (I had only paid 1 premium!) and to be having to file a claim so soon. But I am so thankful for having the insurance and I am recommending Healthy Paws to everyone I know who owns a dog!” So don’t delay. Buy your pet insurance today!
