After comparing pet insurance companies and other policies offered, I was thrilled to find Figo. I love that you can customize your plan in order to have an affordable premium, and the coverage is superior to other plans out there. I've had Figo since July 2016 and they have been terrific. Unfortunately, I have had to make several claims since then for my 2yo new rescue dog due to various issues (thankfully, none life-threatening) -- and Figo has been absolutely wonderful. They are extremely professional, timely, great customer service and I receive the reimbursements that I am expecting to get, there has never been an unexpected missing amount, and I get those checks quite quickly. I used to be with a different pet insurance company for my last dog and, although they were good, still had a lot lacking. I was happy to come to Figo because they did their homework -- they looked at all of the competition and pulled all the best aspects from them AND then added things that the other guys had major shortcomings in (e.g., paying exam fees, providing a 100% reimbursement option, not getting dinged with a lower reimbursement for using specialists and university hospitals, and much more). To top it off, their premium was extremely competitive. I have been very impressed and have already referred my brother, best friend and people at the dog park to Figo.
I really like Figo. It is super easy to make a claim and they have rapid response. The customer service is excellent as well. I wish my own insurance was that good!
You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.
Deductible
$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.
Age Limits
Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.
Waiting Period
1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)
Exclusions
Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months
Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences
