No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up to get your money back.

Couldn't be happier!

I have always been a proponent of pet insurance. My last dog got very sick, and pet insurance made me able to get her the care she needed without worrying about the cost. Figo was instrumental in helping my current dog get better. She was starting to display neurological symptoms. I was able to get her an MRI and figure out what it was - hydrocephalus - and Figo paid 90% without any questions! Extremely Quick Service, too! I love how easy their app is, and their website and text service. Excellent company.

Claim service call

I received a personal call today to explain the details of my recent claim processing. She was very friendly and helpful. The claim matched my expectations of reimbursement. I even received a get well card in the mail for my dog!

Best customer experience and amazing value

With two cats, and knowing the history of pet health care costs through long experience, pet insurance seemed like a no-brainer. After reviewing the available options, the logical solution was to choose Figo. Why? Figo offers the most affordable and accessible plans. When you do the math, it makes good financial sense. More significantly though, as anyone who has ever filed an insurance claim knows, the claims process is usually not the most pleasant experience between a consumer and the insurer. But I have found that Figo has turned that notion on its head. Claims are incredibly easy to file, amazingly quick turnaround time is also a big plus. What really clinched it for me was the customer service reps. They are not only friendly, courteous and super helpful, some of them know oodles about pet health, all of which makes every call a great experience. I cannot find any reason to go back to the old insurance model, especially when I can do everything from my iPhone. (Too bad for the cats, we can't conduct their vet visits from an iPhone.)

Very Upset

When we picked up my dog he was healthy and happy. We immediately submitted a VET check sheet for FIGO's record. I signed up for FIGO the day I picked him up (9/18/16). I also submitted a VET CHECK from the Breeder from 9/9/16 stating he was healthy 2 weeks before we got him. Unfortunately 3 days after we picked him up he caught some kennel cough/pneumonia. As this was during the waiting period we did not expect it to be covered and were slammed with a hefty bill from the hospital. He was recovering but then ate some type of toy fur on Friday (9/23/16) and aspirated vomit into his lung. We took him to the vet and he was confident that FIGO would cover this as an accident as a dog throwing up and creating aspiration pneumonia is an accident. FIGO did not cover the aspiration pneumonia and we are extremely upset. They did not even offer to reimburse a portion of it. I am confident going forward they will help us if an emergency arises.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
