Figo | Pet Insurance Review

I have had my dog, Bella, insured with Figo since I adopted her in 2016. I thought them a good company, but a recent situation proved how great they are. Bella ate supplements containing xylitol which is toxic to dogs. As it may cause liver damage or glucose levels so low as to be fatal, it is an emergency situation. She required immediate treatment and 24 hour monitoring. The 24 hour facility, a veterinary hospital, estimated the cost to be approximately $1,000 per day if there were no complications. I called Figo and explained the situation. The claims representative explained how I could and what would be required to submit a claim for each day my dog was hospitalized so it could reviewed and processed. Although my claims were submitted after hours, Figo processed each one within hours of the start of their business day. I was reimbursed for covered costs as expected less my deductible. I received my reimbursement within days. Excellent work, Figo, and a big thank you!

The app is so easy to use and claims are processed so quickly. Couldn't be happier with this company.

I've been very happy with Figo. In the beginning, it went a little slow, but I received constant emails apologizing for the delay. Now, it's super fast and the claims filed which were covered were paid right away. I like anything that is up to speed with currently technology so I'm happy and so is my buddy Roman.

I had been pondering health insurance for my two dogs, Frank & Pogo, for some time and spent literally MONTHS researching policies and checking reviews and comparing coverages. I decided on Figo and crossed my fingers that it could be as easy as the ads implied. To date, I have had to submit two claims for Frank (thankfully, none for his brother to date) and both times, the process has been simple and straight forward. The first claim, January of this year, was right around the time Figo experienced some growth and the claims process was moving a little slower than normal BUT Figo kept me updated from the time I submitted the claim until it was closed and communicated that they were in the process of expanding to lessen the time it took for claims to be reviewed. The truth of that was borne out on my next claim which I just submitted on 04/28/18...I actually got my payment for that claim TODAY. That was super fast & hassle free. Figo has excellent coverage options, including a 100% reimbursement plan which I opted for. The rates are reasonable, the app & website are FANTASTIC. I particularly liked that Figo does NOT offer a "wellness package" as I wasn't interested in coverage for routine visits but more for out of the ordinary expenses for my guys. This has turned out to be the perfect policy and perfect insurer for us. I have recommended Figo to everyone I know with pets and I wrote my vet an email last night and asked her to share my experience with other clients who were looking for insurance for their own pets (her office is a big proponent of pet insurance and have lots of info available on lots of plans but I thought some real life experience with Figo would be helpful to other pet parents.)
