Figo | Pet Insurance Review

I spent a significant amount of time and effort researching pet insurances last year. Now, for my two dogs, one increased from $34/ mo to $58/ mo and the other from $27 to $43 /mo. I was told that it was due to them being a new company and the new underwriters did this to keep their prices competitive. Well, now they are NOT competitive. They offered options such as removing vet visit fees (which is now an extra add on) which basically amounts to about 1 vet visit which doesn't help, or increasing the deductible. Well, my only options go from $200-$500 and up with $10,000/yr limit at i00% coverage. Even bringing the coinsurance down to match other insurances doesn't help. I have already started looking at Pets Best and PetPlan and they have similar options that will cost less or about the same but have either Unlimited coverage or at least $15,000 (which was 15$ cheaper). This is really frustrating. And sure you can say 'well then just switch, who cares?' But it's not that easy and Figo knows this. First you will have to overlap your insurance or pray that your dogs/pets don't get sick in the new insurance's waiting period. Then the who knee and hip clauses you have to weed through as well. I could understand if it was a slight increase, maybe even $10 a pet, but this is just so frustrating and they are basically just saying well, eat it. They have had decent customer service, except for when I was not able to see an EOB for one of my dogs' visits that was denied and they said it was corrected, which I still could not see it and so I was not able to appeal it, I only have so many hours in the day to spend on this. So here I am AGAIN, almost exactly a year later, sifting through the plans. I think we needed Obama care for our pets too. This is getting crazy.

We got Figo about a year ago and are so glad we did! We love our dog and the poor thing always seems to have issues. Figo helps our pocket book very much and their customer service along with timely feedback to emails or even text messages always is professional and friendly. They are very quick to review any claims and process them quickly. Their email notifications are great and website is easy to navigate and use!

Figo is the best once you meet your deductible they have paid 80% on everything,which helped so much for a surgery our pup had to have..thanks so much for the quick payment..

FIGO is excellent! I am recommending it to everyone that I meet that has a pet. My cat was hospitalized several times for vestibular disease. It was decided that she needed surgery to clean out the infection that was causing her dizziness. FIGO paid for her treatment and her hospital stay. I never had health insurance for any of my cats before. But this one I decided to go the insurance route. Glad that I did!

I am forever thankful for Figo. A year ago my Rosie became sick and needed surgery. The costs were overwhelming but because of Figo I didn’t have to worry whether I could cover the costs for my cats care. Figo is the best, I tell everyone if you don’t have pet insurance, you need Figo.
