First claim - so far I'm impressed!

First claim - the process was easy. I submitted the claim on the 12th, got an email that due to volume it might take up to two weeks to finalize. Two days later, on the 14th, an email that the claim was closed, the EOB available online to review. The EOB was clear and easy to figure out. Today, 6 days after the claim was opened, the reimbursement showed up in my checking account! So far, I am impressed!

Great so far! (8 months in)

So far, my experience with FIGO has been positive. I find the App to be very helpful for submitting claims. Most claims I have submitted have been approved and the coverage is decent. There was one claim that was denied, because my 3 month old puppy supposedly had the illness (Giardia) before the coverage period began. Since Giardia is considered 'curable', if she goes a year without symptoms, the illness will be removed from the 'preexisting' conditions list. I have found the customer service over the phone to be good (fast, knowledgeable, and genuine care). So far I would recommend FIGO; get it while your pet is young to make sure there are no 'preexisting' conditions that get excluded. I hope I never need to use my coverage for a major claim, but have piece of mind... just in case. Pet insurance is a MUST in my opinion.

Real Review - Claim was fully covered!

I previously had a puppy that died from lepto. Our Vet costs were $7000, and when we got a new puppy, we decided pet insurance was a must. I decided to go with Figo because they were one of the few companies to cover ‘exam fees’. You’ll find that most policies do not, or that they’re more expensive. We chose the ultimate plan with a $200 deductible, and 90% payout. It cost about $650 a year. It’s important to note there is a 14 day waiting period for illnesses and 5 days for injury. In our case, our puppy had a reaction to some of the vaccines he was given. Our claim occurred on the day after the waiting period ended. It was perfect and poor timing. I was worried I would to have to go back and fourth with the insurance company during the claims process, but instead the claim was approved and paid in a week. Claim was made on 9/4. Approved on 9/7 and Payment was received on 9/11. Our bill was $540, $133 of which was exam fees. After the deductible, Figo covered the rest ($286). I’m extremely pleased with the prompt service. In addition, Figo has a 6 month waiting period for knee and hip problems, however it can be waived if your vet writes a note indicating your dog is healthy and has no issues. You need to email customer support within the first 30 days of the policy. I sent that in, and it was approved as well. Email response is prompt and knowledgeable. They sent me an email asking for a review, so here it is. They’ve done right by me. Recommend, and as always keep all documentation to avoid any problems.

Everyone has been very nice to me even though I’m totally challenged when it comes to using my computer/cell phone. The patients that the staff exhibit is on believable.
