Figo | Pet Insurance Review

First I would like to thank Laura for going above and beyond helping me out with my claim it's because of her and her time to listen that all turned out well. I have a two-year-old Shepherd which I purchase the insurance for about a year ago. He already had a pre-existing condition of seizures due to mild encephalitis. While under the insurance policy he developed IBD and a motility issue. At first my claim was denied saying it was a pre-existing condition. After I submitted all my documentation and a letter from the doctor stating my dog's issue and that it was not a pre-existing condition Figo reopen the case and my claim was paid. Thank you for all your help during this rough time. For anybody looking for pet insurance I highly recommend them

They do not quality anything for a claim. They are quick to deny a claim and are horrible at being an insurance company. We pay extra for the `100% reimbursement and they deny everything. Apparently if your dog ever sneeze and then needed a test done about a stomach issue they claim it was preexisting because of the sneeze. They are quick to close your case and even quicker to deny you reimbursement. They tend to disregard your asking why and they refuse to pay out. I would avoid this company for they are not worth it the cost.

I have been a policy holder with Figo Pet Insurance for years and throughout those years, the unexpected has occurred on several occasions and I am happy to say that EVERY time; Figo has been there, by our side to help get us through what is often a very difficult financial situation. The staff are incredible, they will lend an ear to listen to you in what is often the worse possible situations and will assist you with the slightest of problems to make sure that you can focus on the things that really matter...your PET!. Figo has been a blessing to my family. I recommend them highly to anyone and everyone I meet with pets. An annual premium is a small price to pay for a family member such as our pets. To those reading this review... I want you to know that Figo does PAY. They have never pushed to deny a claim. Over the years we have seen claims as small as $80 to as high as $20,000.00 and everything in between. I can recall two or three claims that have been in the 10's of thousands, and I can tell you all that I DO NOT have that kind of money to throw around... I have been able to pay the treatments upfront with the help of my family...& each time... Figo came through and reimbursed me 98-100%. What an incredible company. May God bless them, their staff, adjusters, etc. They are the reason my Paisley is still alive and enjoying every day :)

I am (was) a big fan of insurance and over the past 17 years I have used Embrace, Pet Plan and more recently Figo. I was very happy with Pet Plan until they changed underwriters and the terms of their policies changed dramatically. For insurance to work for us I need the features originally offered by Pet Plan: 100% reimbursement after deductible is satisfied and exam fees included. Last year the policy Pet Plan offered me on renewal eliminated 100% reimbursement with a large increase in premium. At the time (spring 2018) Figo was just about the only company offering 100% reimbursement but no longer. They only offer 80% reimbursement and charge extra to cover the exam fee. But most significantly, on a 4 year old small mixed breed the premium went from $500 to $800, a 60% increase. A company that cannot offer a consistent product from year to year with reasonable price increases is not well managed. I am very disappointed in Figo and never even got to make a claim.

We adopted a dog, Zoey, from our local Humane Society in June 2017. She’s mostly English pointer and is very active. Although I have had several other dogs in my life, I was skeptical about getting pet insurance, as I doubted it could ever be useful. In my mind, unsupported by any facts I might add, the insurance company would likely exclude most, if not all, claims which were submitted. I can happily say that is absolutely not the case with FIGO. As it turns out, Zoey tore her ACL and required a fairly significant orthopedic surgery. The claim’s staff at FIGO could not have been more helpful. They guided my wife and I Through the claims process and, after all of the necessary paperwork was submitted, the claim was immediately resolved and a reimbursement check was sent to us. Incredible is all I can say... This is hands-down a wonderful insurance company. I really feel they have our back. Thank you FIGO!!
