Do NOT get this insurance if you care…
Do NOT get this insurance if you care about your money and/or your pet. Even my vet is appalled at their unsound and unethical practices. They asked me who my pet insurance company was so they could steer other clients away from them.
I purchased this a little over a year ago for my husky. Not only did they double his annual cost (I paid $379 the first year and it rose to $734 the next year), but we moved one mile out of a downtown city to a suburb, where theoretically the cost should have gone down, if changing at all. I understand as your pet ages the cost will increase, but this is outrageous.
On top of this, they are snakes and find a loop hole to generalize every condition your pet has ever had and find a way to tie it back to “pre existing conditions”. I can provide many examples of this, including how my dog got a yeast infection from swimming in a lake, and they denied it saying it was “unspecified allergies”. They also love the term IBD and generalize and deny any GI upset, even if it’s from eating something bad.
No only have I wasted thousands of dollars on this insurance, I’ve lost out on thousands of dollars in claims because they deny everything in sight.
You also can’t live chat or get in touch with anyone at the company. It’s all bots - not even an option for a live agent. They purposefully make it a nightmare. Don’t even think of trying to dispute a claim.
Please, take my advice and save yourself thousands of dollars. I am sick to my stomach at the events that have unfolded from dealing with this company. Do NOT do business with this unethical company.
