After the loss of a cat and elderly dog…

After the loss of a cat and elderly dog in 18 months and the expensive emergency vet fees we decided to sign our other pets up for an insurance plan. We did a lot of research and settled on Fetch. We currently have 4 cats (including our new kitten) and we just adopted a rescue dog. Our kitten is super active and even after doing everything we could to kitten-proof our house he somehow managed to break his hip - we aren’t sure how but think he climbed up the outside of the stairs and fell from 12 feet up when he couldn’t turn around - I caught him doing this the day before but grabbed him before he got too high, and hadn’t yet figure out how to prevent this. I had installed netting along the inside of the stairs in fear of him slipping through the rails but didn’t account for that 2.5” overhang on the outside. So our baby cat had to have very expensive emergency vet care followed by surgery. Fetch was amazing and it only took about 2 weeks for the reimbursement to show up in my account with zero issues. We had used it once previously for one of our cats having nonspecific gastro issues and they were just as responsive then. I can’t believe we went so many years without pet insurance but I would not be without it again. Pay attention to the requirements and ensure you have a yearly visit in your pet’s records, you will need that to make a claim. I find the app easy to use and will recommend Fetch to everyone!

Terrible customer service, great at avoiding paying claims

I purchased Fetch insurance for my puppy a few months ago. After four or five days of repeated vomiting, I took him in to see a vet. I submitted all the paperwork and a claim online. I was told that because I did not have two years history on my six month old puppy, they could not process my claim. They do not have a customer service number to call, and their chat feature is merely a bot. There is literally no way to get a hold of them. Do not purchase this insurance.

I am well pleased to have chosen Fetch…

I am well pleased to have chosen Fetch as our pet insurance for my little Yorkie, Ruthie for many reasons. She has medical complications I've never experienced with other dogs. Having this insurance has given me peace of mind to financially move forward in the care she needs for her condition. It has been easy to submit paid invoices and the doctor's notes on line on the Fetch website. Fetch lets me know its received and I can speak to a person if I choose. The insurance payment goes directly into my bank account. The turn around time from submitting a medical claim to receiving funds is timely. I switched my other Yorkie from a different pet insurance company to Fetch. Fetch has been one of the best decisions I've made for my dogs.

Don’t waste your money

I have been with this insurance for 8.5 years. When it was still Pet Plan, I would have recommended it to all pet owners.. in fact I did. Now that it’s Fetch, run as fast as you can and don’t waste your money. The approval or pre-approval process is painful. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to receive anything back. The prices are also atrocious. We have two dogs with this company and the premiums on each dog have almost doubled in the past year. Lastly, my Yorkie has been denied any coverage for a periodontal disease claim. I submitted a dental extraction surgery claim because she has teeth on one side of her mouth that are bothering her and causing her not to eat on that side. This has been a problem before and the two previous surgeries were approved by Pet Plan. Big surprise, Fetch denied this entire claim. Stating it’s “routine” and “preventive care”. My advice for anyone working with Fetch is allow a few of your teeth to rot to the point that you need them extracted and then continue to live with it because your insurance denied you the care that you need. I pay $2000 a year just for my Yorkie to have insurance (which continues to inflate every year). I’m cancelling both dogs plans from this fraudulent company and will just pay out of pocket. If I would’ve done that sooner, I would’ve saved money considering her surgery was only $1500.

Highly disappointed pet owner.

Do not open an insurance plan with this company. We are very disappointed with the insurance that you offer. We have had this insurance for over 8 years, not one time did we have to use it. Now that our pet is getting older (10 years) she is now showing Illnesses and we now have additional cost to care for her. This insurance covers per condition, and the deductible starts over again, even if it is in the same calendar year. We totally disagree with this, 80% is covered of your cost. There are other insurance companies that covers 90% of the your cost. It is great when your pet is healthy but when they get older and you have additional cost that is when you find out, what a horrible plan you have. If something happens to our pet, and we decide to have a other pet, we will NEVER, take out an insurance plan with FETCH again!!! Hopefully others will read this and go with other insurance companies.

Monthly Cost

Plans average $35/month for dogs and $25 /month for cats

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80% or 90% after your deductible.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$250, $300 and $500

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
