Fetch | Pet Insurance Review

Our family suffered the loss of our beloved 14 year old Ridgeback in May of 2023. Our solace came from our neighbors Akita who lovingly always greeted us kindly and looked for her friend our beloved Oli nearly every day. My youngest son - who had been particularly close to our dog - wanted a dog for graduation, although we were still feeling our loss his dad and I agreed. Enter a 10-month old Akita who we renamed Kofe. From the moment my son met him in the shelter, they had a strong bond. Everything was going beautifully, we took Kofe everywhere our family went - until August 2023 when the dog became violently ill. We rushed him to our family vet several times and as he continued to decline, we ended up taking him to the Vet Urgent Care who immediately referred us to The Ohio State University Vet Hospital. He was in ICU and our son was devistated...we all were worried, would we lose the dog that was just beginning to fill the whole in our hearts? Money put aside to make necessary house repairs had to be used for the dogs care instead. The expense was big. It was a huge relief that after a frightening week Kofe turned the corner and stabelized - finally allowing us to take him home. Enter Fetch Pet Insurance, although there were a couple of occasions where I wish I could of asked a question specifically to our adjuster, overall submitting the documents and receiving some recovery was a beautiful experience. Our dog is doing well now and our vet is still following him closely. Our son has him by his side almost always. Plus, Thanks to Fetch we were able to get our home repairs done after all. I hope you understand, beyond a claim number or documents submitted, there is a family making a choice to save the life of a fury family member who means the world to us. Fetch gave us an amazing peace of mind, knowing that moving forward our dog has excellent coverage.

Pet Insurance is a NECESSITY for any Pet Parent. Learn from my mistakes and purchase IMMEDIATELY before anything could be considered “pre-existing”. You are going to have vet bills. Period. You might as well have reassurance that you can be reimbursed for what you’re going to be spending ANYWAYS. Animals have a right to live a healthy life. That is the responsibility you are taking on with a pet. Be responsible. Fetch has THE most comprehensive dental health coverage on the market. My baby had no dental issues… until he did… and needed 5 teeth removed. Fetch covered it completely, within the conditions of my policy AND pre-approved his sister who is showing slightly less severe signs of gingivitis but signs nonetheless. Had I not had to pay my 250$ deductible… my baby’s 750$ dental surgery would have only been 75$ out of pocket… it’s all about the LONG RUN.

I had an outstanding experience this year with Fetch. I’m a health insurance cynic and was dubious, but after spending close to $10,000 on my previous dog for eye infections and eye surgery only to have to put that dog to sleep, I decided to invest in pet insurance for my new puppy, who is now 2 and a half. Unfortunately, we had three claims this year which were reimbursed quickly at 90% after the deductible, no fuss, no bother. Believe me, I did my research and Fetch seemed the most honest and straightforward policy to choose.
